Starting up the blu-ray, I am greeted by a slick-looking menu with an ambient version of Breathe playing in the background...
Oh God that's so cool
Holy fucking sheep that's beautiful..
Holy. Shit. Tell us what you think. Also AK'z you have to go to Battersea, they are floating the pig!
Dude, it's my favourite Floyd album so it's no question bro. I'm going be awake for 5am to see it. :)
I really like Nobody Home. Very emotional song. I like Run Like Hell, but what I don't get is why everyone seems to like it way more than I do.
Meh. Everyone seems to love Another Brick pt 2, but really I actually prefer the other two over it. Maybe I'm just being hipster.
No, you're just being an average Floyd fan. Enter Sandman syndrome. Why like the most popular song of a band when you can like everything else more and be different and cool! I agree with Pepin though on both accounts. Nobody Home is very emotional in the sense it could have been on The Final Cut, but it is an amazing song nonetheless. And Run Like Hell is pretty cool but it's not a stand out song by any means, it gets repetitive. Kinda the same with High Hopes. Good song, but saying it's the best on the album is a massive overstatement
That's probably the most underrated song on the album imo.
I prefer the second half of it
You mean the last upbeat part? [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] Well yeah, it's not really a pop rock song like any of the others on the album.
Anyways, today I blew some of my piano lesson savings on a Pink Floyd magazine. Hopefully I can make use of it by posting info I read that I would assume none of us knew beforehand. More importantly, some cool pictures of the band Here's the one just incase any of you guys own it [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] Yes I payed $15 dollars for something that was worth 6 pounds [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] Here's "FLOYD'S 30 GREATEST SONGS" as picked by Gilmour and Mason if you guys were wondering 30. http://www.youtube.com/OfficialPinkFloyd "The Greatest Gig In The Sky is now live! Every hour, on the hour, between now and September 28th, you can hear Pink Floyd's performance of The Dark Side Of The Moon from Wembley 1974, accompanied by some of the original concert screen films, and connecting with fans across the world who are also watching - and commenting - with you!" JUST STARTED
it's just some psychedelic intermission thing. i like this.
Wow, that is really nice of them to do. [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] Oh cool they have the full animated clocks bit for live performances of Time.
These backdrop films are fucking amazing. [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6tr0Uz2uZU[/hd] Here's the video link, it doesn't have the social feeds you see on the channel stream, but it's still badass.
Man, the band is in top form here.
I watched the whole damn concert today. By Mason's mustache it was beautiful...
On a different note, I'm currently watching Live at Pompeii again, this time the original version.
Hey guys I don't think you's have seen this before so I'm posting it. It's from the magazine I got
Nick Mason wants complete global domination
Nick Mason wants complete global domination
With that mustache he could've. Also, I didn't think the Floyd would get the Beatles treatment. Roger said Multi for favorite color because he would later write Any Colour You Like.
Roger Water's musical education: 12 year's tuition on the spoons :v:
lol, Roger's real name is George.
I loved Rog's answer to parent's names.
It has arrived!
You have no idea how much I envy you right now. I must get the super ultra mega edition of DSOTM, The Wall, WYWH, and if there is one, Animals. I'd also really like to see one of The Division Bell. I feel like I'm the only person who actually really loves that album though, sadly

I just had the most brilliant idea for The Greatest Gig In The Sky, replace some the repeated visuals and world map section with concert footage, overlap more concert footage over other visual parts, put even more concert footage in some of those blank circles/squares/etc. where the social comments go, and then put famous badass philisophical quotes in other blank spots.
Dad found a Pink Floyd documentary the other day. First thing he said to me was "I didn't know Roger Waters was such a prick, even in the interviews he struck me as an egotistical asshole"
Well his real name is George...
Man, what was really great about The Dark Side of the Moon Tour was that it was just those four guys, plus Dick Parry and backing vocalists. They didn't need any other session musicians to augment their playing, like in the future tours. DSOTM is simple music, yet so complex at the same time.
