Man, what was really great about The Dark Side of the Moon Tour was that it was just those four guys, plus Dick Parry and backing vocalists. They didn't need any other session musicians to augment their playing, like in the future tours. DSOTM is simple music, yet so complex at the same time.
Everything layered into itself. The Wall was more of a show, a literal rock opera, than it was a prog. rock album. Animals had so many layers it was ridiculous. I think Wish You Were Here is the only other album that even comes close to being completely playable with no outside help.
They played Atom Heart Mother without the brass and choir numerous times.

I think Meddle, too.

Also the dog in Seamus, but that hardly counts lol
careful with those what? surely... not... axes?
Actually it says "be careful with those facts, eugene"

They've also played that numerous times by themselves.

They only played that once, and it was on Live At Pompeii, Richard's dog sang on that version.

"Getting Pink Floyd to reunite...well...that would be a little more difficult..."
I don't suppose this newscaster sees Rick walking anywhere around?
and Syd.

overslept bro, sorry. :]
I might pop into London some time this week if you're lucky.
I would have not sleeped at all, fuck waking up that early
I just got into Pink Floyd about a month and a half ago, I downloaded The Wall and listened to it the entire way through. It was awesome. I was thinking about getting Atom Heart Mother or Wish You Were Here next, which one is better in your opinion?
Go with Wish You Were Here.

You really shouldn't say that.
Warez is bannable here.
Also, don't forget Dark Side Of The Moon.

The Division Bell is fine, but I think that most of the songs just sound too similar and are really forgettable.
Meddle is where its at.

I think that it has Gilmour's best guitar work of all the Floyd albums, plus I love his singing on it.
We're all pretty torn on post-Waters works here in PF thread.
Personally I'm quite hostile towards them!

But objectively speaking, I feel his best guitar playing, singing, and songwriting of his entire career were on The Division Bell, and his solo album On An Island - which I also love.

Interesting, I didn't quite like his guitar tone in the post-Roger Waters era. On the albums at least. His playing's always great, just his sound was a bit thin and brittle on the albums.
However, his live guitar tone on the Momentary Lapse and Division Bell tours is just pure smooth liquid, I don't know how else to describe it.

While I do like the Black Strat and his return to a more vintage tone, for some reason I prefer the Red Strat more.

This. This so much. Sorry to say, but Momentary Lapse was a piece of shit bar 2 songs. This is the complete opposite. Gilmour's songwriting practically matches the quality of Waters' songwriting abilities on the Division Bell, his guitarwork adds good character to the album, and his voice, oh god it's heavenly. He still has the "vintage Gilmour" vocals on "What Do You Want From Me", but most of the rest of the album he sounds like a professional singer, he sounds very young and his voice is great. Plus the fact that Rick, Nick and Gilmour worked on the album together gave it the Floyd element that the 3 previous releases didn't have - collaborative effort.
Plus some of the songs, thanks to Wright mostly, but more importantly their old equipment help capture the Floyd sound on some tracks like Wearing the Inside Out, Keep Talking and High Hopes. And the intro solo to Coming Back To Life is definately in my top 3 Gilmour solos
