I think a film adaptation for Animals would be just as good as The Wall. Only problem is that it's not as long.
It has a concept adapted from the story of Animal Farm and puts it into context of music. It's brilliant how they did it lyrically (not they but Waters) but I don't think it's worth making a movie about.
Wall is a one off masterpiece.
I still stand by the fact that the Echoes compilation would make a great biopic Floyd film.

No... misses Fat Old Sun out.
I think one of the early track listings for it included it... it was either that or Summer '68, can't remember.
My personal opinion of Echoes is that it has far too much later than it does early.

Speaking of earlier albums, which one should I start on? I've listened to all of their later albums, from DSOTM to The Wall, and I haven't heard a whole lot about their early stuff.

Atom Heart Mother and Meddle.
If you can only choose one, go Meddle.

The very first album is good. Different to the DSOTM onwards and more psychedelic rock/hard rock but still awesome.
However, once you start getting into Saucers, Cows and Ears.. you'll start to feel a bit weird.
In other words, get yourself Meddle.
Guhhh, I still haven't listened to Piper. That'll probably change soon what with all the reissues and all. Even the few fleeting copies I could find on the net were pretty expensive.

UK bros, if you missed the Pink Floyd special on BBC Radio 2 last night you can catch it again here:

Oh, and there's a special Pink Floyd night on Friday, same station.
this is pretty awesome http://dontsave.com/youtube_free_jazz/?s=Pink/Floyd

Ummagumma
Just watched the wall, and holy shit.
I'm speechless.
DID THEY EXPECT US TO TREAT THEM WITH ANY RESPECT?
I just found a rare vinyl bootleg. It has 3 LPs in it. It's from during the Gilmour era though.

Also to those asking about the earlier albums:
Piper at the Gates of Dawn is fantastic, definitely up there for me as one of their best.
Meddle is probably more like Dark Side of the Moon, so if you like that you'll probably like this more than say, Saucerful or Piper.
Ummagumma is just too weird for me, the live set is cool, but Sysyphus and stuff are just too "avant-garde"
I love Atom Heart Mother, the suite at least, Summer 68, If, and Fat Old Sun are good but the suite is just amazing, Alan's Psychedelic breakfast is just too strange, the parts with music are good though, but the breakfast parts are just... eh.
Look what I picked up

Perhaps not as cool as the immersion set, but this is the only thing I can afford :v:
I have looked for an original Division Bell vinyl but can't seem to find one.

I've been looking so hard for that.
I only need 4 more and then I have every studio album on vinyl. Just More, Ummagumma, Saucerful (the hardest to find), and the Division Bell.

God original Divison Bell goes for around $200.
I found one Saucerful, but I doubt it's real. I heard there are fakes all over the place.

Really? Fuck. That sucks. I don't really want a picture disc either, I'd rather the sleeve.

It's a reissue but I don't mind, it will do.

It says it's a reissue, and being that it's from a random place in Europe it's most likely a bootleg.

This is what I want:

I have a near mint copy of Animals on vinyl. It's my favourite PF record. I really want the Division Bell though, mainly for High Hopes.
Omfg high hopes is so overrated I'm getting so annoyed
People think that it's like the only good song on TDB. Not only are there other good songs, High Hopes is boring
I disagree with High Hopes being boring, but its definitely not the only good song.

Underrated or Overrated. Who cares.. at least it exists.
Well that's kinda just my opinion on that part. But the good song part is FACT
And High Hopes seriously...
"In a world full of magnets and miracles"
FUCKIN' MAGNETS

Yeah that stupid ICP song's ruined that line for me.
I don't think High Hopes is overrated, I've never heard anyone talk about it, I just think that it has one of the best guitar solos of Gilmour's career in it though.
I don't think it's the ONLY good song on the Division Bell, but it's definitely my favourite.
Well everyone in this thread and YouTube go straight to High Hopes when TDB comes up
