My sister stole most of my old Pink Floyd CDs.
But honestly, I watched this: and I think it's a poor attempt to try and "move" them into the modern times. Original is best but why add things that have nothing to do with the originals when doing this?
I think it's also due to the fact that they're getting very old now, and I think this is just one final effort on their part to solidify their legacy. But there'll be more rereleases after this, knowing how record companies are.
I think there'll be another DSOTM remaster for the 50th anniversary. After that it might die down until the 100th anniversary if its still around by then. I have no issue with the new remasters except for the fact that every single time they reissue, they get James Guthrie to remaster it. What a waste of time. Why not get different people to remaster it from time to time? Personally I'd like to see Steve Wilson have a crack at it.
so my sister has this pink floyd wallet
that is fucking sweet
Don't forget Animals. (And don't you dare tell me it's too long for a newcomer to listen to, that's just fucking bullshit.)
It is bullshit. I enjoyed it first run
Admitedly, it's the only Pink Floyd record I fully got on first listen.
I'm not overly observant about themes in Pink Floyd's work other than The Wall. [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] Aw yeah, I'm doing a play in drama and am performing as a 1960's British College Student/Psych Rock enthusiast. He's basically a ripoff of Syd Barrett and his name is Roger.
Dude, Syd's real name is Roger.
Dude, Syd's real name is Roger.
WHAT THE WHAT, why has nobody mentioned this. :tinfoil:
Dude, Syd's real name is Roger.
I know that
Me too.
Dude, Syd's real name is Roger.
Bigger twist: Roger Water's real name is George.
Even bigger twist: Gilmour is confused how he sounds good playing a guitar.
WHAT THE WHAT, why has nobody mentioned this. :tinfoil:
I'm quite surprised you didn't actually know that. Unrelated: For Halloween I shall be giving out candy sitting outside. I shall be dressed as a ghost pirate with a $50 mask on. I'll have a speaker on either side of me hooked into my phone audio out. For some music to complement the ghost pirate theme... why not Echoes over and over? Also creeper jackolanterns
I'm going as Stalin...Going to a party tonight and tomorrow night going out to cause general debauchery with friends and probably trick-or-treat because you can NEVER be too old for that.
Ever wondered what The Final Cut's album cover exactly was, it's a close-up shot of WWII vet's dress coat with it's medals and a Remembrance Day poppy.
Bigger twist: Roger Water's real name is George.
Yeah, and Gilmours first name is Snowy.

When your one of the few, to land on your feet, what do you do to make ends meet? Make them mad, make them sad, make them add two and two. Or make them me, or make them you, make them do what you want them to do. Make them laugh, make them cry, make them lay down and die...
Was listening to The Wall last night. Even though it's Roger Waters' lovechild, it wouldn't be the same if the rest of the band wasn't there. Also, I love In The Flesh. Also also, I bet you guys didn't know that Roger Waters can't actually read sheet music, and developed his own system to play bass guitar.
Most people do that. Sheet music is mainly for classically trained people.
I was of the opinion that pink floyd was rather shit when i started listening to it. It only really clicked for me when i read up on what the lyrics for The Wall where about and it became so much more than just pieces of music. I still don't like anything they made before DSOTM though.
eventually you'll embrace it. it takes awhile to get into pre-DSOTM
I don't know, the first time I listened to Meddle I fucking loved it.
That's an exception [editline]1st November 2011[/editline]
Was listening to The Wall last night. Apart from the debut, how can you not like that?
On the day the wall came down The ship of fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night like paper doves in flight
Is Waters a secret Doors fan? [sp] sorry in advance [/sp]
