Dude... that's a Division Bell song you quoted there. :D
Also Waters does have a great taste in music.
"In a world full of magnets and miracles"
Sorry Gilmour but I laugh every time :v:
yes mate. like noone has said that before already. :)
I don't laugh at Gilmour when I hear that
he didn't write the lyrics to that song, lol
It's true. Polly Samson ruined Pink Floyd.
She really didn't
Well I guess Polly Samson may be the only person Roger Waters cares less about than Margaret Thatcher.
She really didn't
Come on. The only reason why Division Bell is enjoyable is the sounds. The lyrics are for the most point very distracting to what they were best at, at that point in time.
Think about it. Without the songwriter, you have people who can make great instrumentals.

Yes, but they wanted lyrics and Gilmour is absolutely hopeless at them. Worse than her to be sure, and some of her lyrics weren't that bad really. Apart from that magnets and miracles line, I really enjoy the lyrics to High Hopes, I think they're a good portrayal of the state of Floyd as it was at the time of the recording.
Also, her lyrics improve. the lyrics in On an Island I found to be really good, and she wrote those.
On An Island is a different story. It's a superb album, great return to form for the man.
Loads of people think its boring apparently. I thought it was brilliant. This Heaven is a really sentimental song and On An Island is a folky masterpiece. My only issue is that Where We Start and Smile could be one song really.
My god the solo at the end of Comfortably Numb is AMAZING.

It's really not that hard, though.

No, he wasn't bashing The Division Bell. Akayz was just pointing out that Waters was not a member of Pink Floyd during The Division Bell and couldn't have wrote A Great Day for Freedom. So you should be asking if Samson/Gilmour is a fan of The Doors.
Also, 'ship of fools' is a very common phrase. One weakness of Gilmour's/Samson's writing is that they like to use cliches a lot in their lyrics.

Oh holy shit. I thought that was waters singing in TDB... guess that shows you how much I know about the band itself... :v:
I assumed he was really old... he'd be about 40ish around TDB recording

Yeah, they're all in their late 60s now.
By the recording of TDB, Gilmour was already losing his hair. He looks p ridiculous here :v:

Dude, I've never said in these thread that "I do not like Division Bell".
I try to look at each album differently. They're kind of like a different band in a sense on each one because they're all in a different place of mind.
