If there is anyone on this planet who does not like Comfortably Numb's solo, they are inhuman.
Ugh, I hate that solo. David Gilmour is too slow at guitar.

The guitar on Dogs is more addictive than Comfortably Numb I have to say.
If there is anyone on this planet who does not like Comfortably Numb's solo, they are inhuman.
Comfortably Numb's solo is overrated as fuck.
doesn't stop it from being great
Calling anything critically acclaimed, like books or movies, overrated is a lazy argument.
Calling anything critically acclaimed, like books or movies, overrated is a lazy argument.
Anyone's entitled to say Wall is overstated. I doubt it had as big a musical/cultural impact as London Calling.
So, out of curiosity, has anyone else here listened to Pink Floyd to help them fall asleep? I've found myself listening to either Animals, The Wall or Dark Side and usually pass out in the first ten minutes.
I think I listened to The Wall once while falling asleep. Can't remember if that went well or not. Though for this one week during the summer, I kept waking up really early, so every morning at dawn I would watch the sunrise while listening to Animals. It was fucking beautiful, man.
Yeah, for Moon it takes me to Time and I'm asleep.
Time is a good alarm for waking up. There's a huge cacophony of clocks to wake you up, then you get to listen to Floyd while you prepare for the day I would still use it, but I didn't want to associate Pink Floyd with something as terrible as waking up

Thanks!
The "ping" from Echoes would make a great alarm clock, or ringtone or something.
The guitar on Dogs is more addictive than Comfortably Numb I have to say.
I doubt anyone in this thread listens to your opinion on Floyd anymore because its always going to be blind fanboyism about Animals so we kind of already know your opinion on everything Floyd not that I blame you, but still
The "ping" from Echoes would make a great alarm clock, or ringtone or something.
I did exactly that, made it my text message ringtone. My call ringtone has been, variously: 1. A Day in the Life circle of fifths sequence 2. Any Colour You Like 3. Kraftwerk's song Neon Lights And other stuff I guess. [editline]22nd November 2011[/editline]
Comfortably Numb's solo is overrated as fuck.
It's a good song, the song everyone knows, but it's really far from my favorite Floyd song.

In a few months I'll rabbit on about Piper At The Gates of Dawn. :v:
So, out of curiosity, has anyone else here listened to Pink Floyd to help them fall asleep? I've found myself listening to either Animals, The Wall or Dark Side and usually pass out in the first ten minutes.
Dark Side always helps me chill
Dark Side is the polar opposite of Wall. One's very dry and hard hitting, where as the other kind of floats in mid air.
Calling anything critically acclaimed, like books or movies, overrated is a lazy argument.
When it steals all the glory from the other just as brilliant work the writer/director/artist has done, it's overrated.
Steals? Or rightfully deserves. :smug:
Nope, it's a serious criminal offense that's punishable by death, you better edit that before the Pink Floyd Media Enforcement Agency sees it, or else you're fucked.
Oh yeah? What are they gonna do? Put me up against some sort of Wall? Puh-lease.
