Plebs will be plebs. I haven't given the Cow album a listen in a long while.
Just got something nice as a christmas present
Oh shit I've seen that Kubrick collection thingie in a store near me... MUST HAVE
I want the Wish You Were Here Immersion. Because, in my opinion it's their best album, Dark Side is a close, close, close second.
Plebs will be plebs.
Be more pretentious
Yeah so ok, I kind of got this for Christmas. I pretty much love my sister right now.
Be more pretentious
Come on you know I was kidding. :)
Come on you know I was kidding. :)
Yes I do also merry christmas fp

Listening to Wish You Were Here, not even halfway through and I'm enjoying it loads.
aw yeah I got the remastered DSOTM. I already had it but I think I'll keep the remastered because I can imagine it sounding waaaay better. I can't wait to see what Santa Claus and the rest of the family bring tomorrow. :D
So i got a RC Helicopter for christmas. It has searchlights on it. The very first thing i did when i got time to myself was flew it around in the dark screaming
"STAND STIILLLL LADDIE!"

An obsession of this level isn't healthy
I'm not that obsessed jesus christ i was making a simple reference.
I'm not that obsessed jesus christ i was making a simple reference.
That's the first step :v:
Someone must obtain a brick, then throw it at his head. Then he'll really be onto The Dark Side of The Moon
Someone must obtain a brick, then throw it at his head. Then he'll really be onto The Dark Side of The Moon
DSOTM doesn't have as much a clear and easily-obtainable story to me. It's just a string of songs based around life. there's no real story.

So I got two itunes gift cards this christmas, both are $15. I spent the first one, got David Bowie's Low and some Tim and Eric. After getting the second one later at a relative's house, I go to redeem it on Itunes. Just then I notice a pre-orders tab. Pink Floyd was listed on it. I go click it. This is what I find. It's $30. I spent half of the Itunes money I got total, and I'm left with the other half. On the bright side, I was still able to buy the WYWH deluxe, which is also really cool. Its a commentary on the madnesses of the world ie obsession with money, being impatient, conflict between people, drug use, etc etc Brain Damage is the only song specifically about Syd Barrett
I heard it was about all aspects of life.
Both of you are correct. DSOTM's message is that those madnesses of the world listed by teacup = aspects of life. Modern life to be exact. And its message still rings true as it did 40 years ago, which is why its such a Timeless album. :mmmsmug:
Listening to Bike. So funny and terrifying at the same time.
IIRC it's apparently about Syd Barret's spiral into drugs.
That's just an element of the album. Although it's not directly a theme, like "Shine on".

Pie charts are hilarious.
I'm not that obsessed jesus christ i was making a simple reference.
You've been making "simple references" for the past 30 pages.

Correction, 31 pages.
I really like The Division Bell - I don't understand why everyone that reviews it says it has awful quality to the lyrics - I think they're pretty good. We enjoy Division Bell. Not their best. Good example of 90s space rock. [editline]27th December 2011[/editline] Have to admit that the lyrics aren't why I enjoy it.

the next phase is some more interest in their earlier stuff and before you know it you're awake at 4am compulsevely downloading bootlegs at 15kB/s off long dead communities just because you think there might be a slightly longer/different version of that one song that you simply cannot stop obssessing over. Trust me I've been through the exact same stages.
