Maybe it's just me, but I think the lyrics were done in a way to make Gilmour's voice more "elaborate".

At least he was an inspired song-writer. He did care about the world around him too, that's what made his work relevant.

Take drugs if you want to, it wouldn't improve your listening experience... just the experience of being high. If that's what you really want to do, go for it.

You can't ask people [I]how[/I] to experience music. It's mainly your own mindset, which is obviously changed with drugs. In my opinion, it's the easy door to the feelings. Took me months to fully get into Dark Side, that's having come from a background of r&b and soul.
