People are just gonna say i'm insane and obsessed but, I can't stop thinking of SOPA's enforcers as The Hammers, since they can, and will mercilessly destroy and mindlessly wreck everything they come across, Regardless of creed, content, or alliance.
Speaking of "The Wall", I just got this shirt about two days ago....wearin' it right now:
Sounds like more of Roger's twaddle about how The Wall encompasses political issues of the world.
I don't like his twisting of The Wall from a rock star tortured by his childhood and general life to a rock star who goes batshit because of war.
He got the vocals spot on.
Everyone knows that you're the only person who can sing exactly like Roger Waters (also James Labrie)
I don't like his twisting of The Wall from a rock star tortured by his childhood and general life to a rock star who goes batshit because of war.
I don't think that's what he attempts to evocate by adding random political issues to The Wall, call me a fanboy but it just feels like he realized that Wall was his most famous work and he's just raising awareness of real life problems. And honestly, does it really mess with the album's original message that much? In my opinion, all it does is make it less pretentious, more relevant, just like DSOTM compared to Meddle or Saucerful. Stuff like this, relevant lyrics and good music, is what immortalizes a band. Take King Crimson, for instance. The early incarnations had music as good or perhaps even better than the Floyd's and now they're basically unknown compared to PF. Sure, marketing caused a large portion of that fame, but eventually what sticks is the spirit the songs induce. Also Fripp is apparently kind of a dick
Roger Waters: "Care for some sssssssoup?"
I don't like his twisting of The Wall from a rock star tortured by his childhood and general life to a rock star who goes batshit because of war.
It's still the same story, Roger is just showing off his views in between the chapters.
Lou Reed's Berlin is better than Wall.
Welp, the Wall tour show is next Friday. I'm getting excited. Never been to any form of gig before, not sure what to do at a Roger Waters show other than see how many times you can smell pot.
you ain't even heard it pand why funny?
I dunno, just that AK'z charm of the post. Makes me laugh... with you. Not at you. :smug:
You should listen to it though. It actually is a good album. Well before the time of Rock Opera things that Floyd and Queen did.
I dunno, just that AK'z charm of the post. Makes me laugh... with you. Not at you. :smug:
Its funny because you used 'charm', 'AK'z' and 'laugh' in the same post.
B-b-b-but i can do the Eugene scream!
So can I. The secret technique is cracking your balls.
So can I. The secret technique is cracking your balls.
No. It's imagining that you're trapped in a room for 5 years with Margaret Thatcher reading you the large-print bible at a rate of one word per minute
No. It's imagining that you're trapped in a room for 5 years with Margaret Thatcher reading you the large-print bible at a rate of one word per minute
No thats how I get a boner.
No thats how I get a boner.
You mean I'm not the only one?
You mean I'm not the only one?
Of course not, its a very common fetish.
Everyone knows that you're the only person who can sing exactly like Roger Waters (also James Labrie)
Sorry, but I am the only real Roger Waters clone here, everyone else is just good imitations.
First post ever in the music section, but yeah. I got a Roger Waters ticket for Christmas last year, and my dad got one too. He likes Pink Floyd and I like 'em, kind of figured that maybe this would be the last time him and I would see any remnants of Pink Floyd ever so we got tickets to go together :) In other news, I've been obsessed with "Is There Anybody Out There?" the live album of them performing The Wall. Holy shit. I love that better than the studio version. Also, My favorite songs right now (they change because the band is kickass) are Sheep and Welcome to The Machine (rockin' out to Sheep is kickass)
Been listening to Floyd non stop for days now and love Wish You Were Here so much. I need a few albums to get other than Animals, DSOTM and The Wall.

Stuff like Piper and Meddle takes quite a mindbending turn.
