but its so..
dumb looking with those cartridges
i mean the rest of the gun looks p. legit, then bam
dinky-ass rounds
how? I'm just reshelling it
Guns with a longer barrel (like the raider) put friction on the dart, resulting in lower muzzle velocity. In springers, I don't think the effect is as pronounced because the air pressure should help it through a little. But with a flywheel gun, you don't have that. I'm thinking it's going to come out of the wheels and stop in the barrel.
Some would argue that flywheel guns aren't as powerful to begin with, but I think with proper modification they can be competent.
Dude, that's just sad. The Raider is better than the Maverick in all areas: Ammo capacity, reload speed, range, and RoF. You have remove the AR to get some good ranges with that gun. Same can be said for any of the N-strike line of guns.
so what is this AR thing? Is it the tube in the front?
[editline]5th April 2011[/editline]
I'm guessing not. I removed it, and I still have the same issues. 30% of the time, the dart just sort of plops out or doesn't even make it out of the tube.

this man speaks the truth. Longer barrel = shorter ranges always

I still get shitty ranges after removing the extended part of the barrel from my nerf gun. Often, the bullet will just comically plop out of the gun.

What you need to do is remove the Air Restrictor (AR). You may want to do some other mods for extra power, but that's up to you. Basically, follow the instructions here:

I told him that, and showed him this thread.. he is convinced that it won't look good.
:downs:
hnggg
But it'd look soo much better than it does now, if he was really going for the bolter pistol look.
I mean loook

I dunno what to tell you venom :v:

tell him to get a bunch of .75 caliber PVC pipe and cut it to fit in the magazine, with similar-size round tips (halves of pingpong balls?) at the end

holy shit do this
make the magazine like a single stack of giant rounds
How did you get bullets in your nerf gun??
well you just sort of slide them into the--oh shit I think I found my problem
Just bought a Stampede a few hours ago. It fucking rocks. I have two raider magazines that make it almost unstoppable. can't wait to do some zombies later.

How do you even prime the gun?
How do you even prime the gun?
I think that's the slide on the top.
If it were possible, I'd want to mod the inside of a Maverick in order to make it semi-auto without an intense trigger pull.
Is there possible to get an extended magazine that works with the recon?
Most if not all the mags work with the recon.
Most if not all the mags work with the recon.
All of them do, but it's a bit awkward with the 35-dart drum.

If you're ok with having to replace a tank, you could make it C02 powered. Otherwise, you'll have to do some serious engineering, and that's assuming it's even possible.
I'd like it too, but currently there's just no known way.
So if I buy a new gun, which I won't for a while, I'm thinking about the Barrel Break. It's unweildy, I know, but I've always wanted a double-barreled gun, and I know from experience that shell-based guns are WAY too inconvenient. Does anybody have any opinions on it?

I wouldn't use it for zombies but it's a pretty cool blaster

A couple of my friends have it at college where we played HvZ. It is slightly unwieldy because of the shells and takes a little long to reload on the run. I would suggest cutting the barrels down to about sawn-off length if you want. I think it helps with power and distance a little bit.
My college HvZ club is doing a mission this Saturday and it's gonna be awesome if it works perfectly (our mission). It involves getaway cars! I swear, making up the missions is sometimes more fun than actually playing them.
Not sure if this is Late but the HVZ wiki has some Loadout recommendations

Once I finish up my US VN and Russian loadouts for airsoft, I'll buy a ton of nerf guns and just show up at games.
.. Not that the gear would effect my play ability at all. I usually tend to have conversations with people behind cover.
Wanting to get a buzzbee gun but i'm not sure if i should get the Hawk or the Shell Shock
the reviews said the shell shock was a flimsy piece of shit, but the hawk only comes with 4 shells and i can't find any shell refills so far
what are your thoughts?

Who ever wrote that article must still be in grade school. Misspellings galore, and totally retarded load outs for people. I think he was going for what he thinks is "cool." In reality, you are better off sticking with one primary gun, and maybe a pistol. Seriously, one load said that a person had have 2 Vulcans and 2 Mavericks.

The Barrel Break doesn't use shells. It's awesome, in my opinion. But for Zombies, it's gonna sucks. Maybe use it as a secondary.
