so i have my deploy sitting here and i'm thinking what the fuck is that little hole on the front of the pump for?
The wrap around belt thingy(The name of it escapes me) I think.
no it's like a little hole in the front of the pump you can fit a dart in there but i don't think that's the intended purpose
no it's like a little hole in the front of the pump you can fit a dart in there but i don't think that's the intended purpose
It probably is a dart holder. Almost every gun has some weird space to put one single dart in. Like the one on the Recon which is under the grip.
The Raider has a dart-sized hole in the pistol grip, maybe it actually is a single dart storage or something? I can't think of any other reason unless it's due to how it was molded, like a rod was put in there or something, but on the inside of Raider it looks like it was purposely put in there. Maybe it's the same on the Deploy?
I stuck a dart in my Raider's grip and It took me forever to get it back out.
I stuck a dart in my Raider's grip and It took me forever to get it back out.
Have the head be the one that stuck out. It'll be easier to pinch out rather than the reverse. But, it's not even practical and I usually forget I have a dart stuck up there.
On mine it's too loose to stick a dart in, it will fall out if it jiggles around due to moving or anything. However, it is a very nice spot for a battery, and I'm sure it would come in handy if somebody made a mod with a light or a motor or something that would use a battery because you can pretty easily fit a AA holder in there with a bit of dremel work.

I don't know if this is late or not, but for anybody whose Deploy jams when charging, I figured out the problem and a temp solution. Much like the Maverick there is a small loop that the plunger hooks on to. The loop in the Deploy sometimes does not go up enough to allow the plunger to catch, but the rest of the mechanism (mag release, charging handle, etc.) locks. To fix the locking the first time, take a pencil or screwdriver and push the loop up while pulling the charging handle back to lock the plunger and dryfire. To keep the mechanism from sticking, pull the trigger while pulling the charging handle back, and then release the trigger when you push the handle back to its original position. (I'd take pictures or video, but all my cameras are borked)
Thought I'd show you guys this since I own a Longshot. I just watched a movie on Netflix, called Hunter Prey. The guys in the movie had some pretty interesting guns, mainly because I noticed one interesting detail: [img_thumb]http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/images/hunter-prey-1.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.foamdartblasters.info/images/Nerf-N-Strike-Longshot-CS-6.jpg[/img_thumb]
At least it's modded nicely. v:v:v
For me it's more like it has a sort of failsafe catch, if you don't charge the pump hard enough the catch doesn't disengage, and it catches it on the forward motion. Try charging exceptionally hard before moving it forward to disengage the catch. Works for me.
I dislike the Deploy. I think it's the only Nerf gun I really do not like.
I think the Deploy's a fun blaster, but the only really special thing about it is the deploying. Otherwise it's just a regular Nerf blaster that suffers from more technical problems than the others do. If they had made it smaller it would've been nice, since the whole folding up thing would've been useful. Right now though it's a huge brick that transforms into a Nerf blaster. :v:
Yeah, I regret getting the Deploy instead of the Recon. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline] But now i'll get to have both! :buddy:
The Deploy feels flimsy, but it's a good blaster. Think of it as a recon, but with a better pump handle. The size of the blaster is bulky though.
reading this specifically made me laugh
It's not the size, it's how you use it. :v:
So me and my friend modded a Nitefinder, worked well, much better now. Then we modded a LS front blaster, all it really did was make it EXTREMELY loud, lotta hollow space in that gun. Range was more reliable, but not by a ton.
don't waste your time with the LS front gun. You really can't improve it much
don't waste your time with the LS front gun. You really can't improve it much
Yeah, honestly it was mostly for practice, it has a surprisingly complicated interior.
I'm thinking of getting an Air Zone Power Strike 48. I wanna get a new primary for HvZ. The only thing I'm worried about is how loud it is.
My favorites are the Maverick and all the N-Force Melee stuff.
So after coming home from a bro's place, I can now reasonably say that the Recon with no attachments and the 35 round drum is like the best thing ever. I just wish the Recon had a spring assisted slide like the Maverick, so you don't have to push the slide forward every time you cock it. :v:
If it had that, reloading would be pretty difficult unless the slide had a catch and release, and who wants to do that every time you cock it?
I have a Nerf-N strike Stampede ECS and it's a bitch to reload.
I'm thinking of getting an Air Zone Power Strike 48. I wanna get a new primary for HvZ. The only thing I'm worried about is how loud it is.
It's as loud as any flywheel gun.
It's as loud as any flywheel gun.
It'll be probably good as a Zombie repellent just because of the sound it makes. But it could work in reverse too and attract more. Either way, this will have more capacity and probably more range than my Raider.
I have a Nerf-N strike Stampede ECS and it's a bitch to reload.
In what way is the Stampede hard to load? I find it's the easiest out of any gun I have, since the rest of them require the gun to be half-cocked and then hold a small button; all you have to do with the Stampede is slide a little thingy for a moment and you're done.
If it had that, reloading would be pretty difficult unless the slide had a catch and release, and who wants to do that every time you cock it?
There's plenty of Nerf guns that have springs that pull the slide back forward for you without needing any latch, not sure what you mean.
There's plenty of Nerf guns that have springs that pull the slide back forward for you without needing any latch, not sure what you mean.
It's because of the way the recon reloads. If the spring pulled is back for you, then you would have to hold it back while switching magazines.
