Just out of interest, are the new guns available in the UK yet, and if so, where? I know the Stampede isn't out until 9/9/10, I mean the other two. [editline]07:26PM[/editline]
It doesn't have super awesome modding potential (read: reverse plunger) but it is fucking awesome to play with. A bitch to unjam, though. Streamlines and DT darts don't work with it.
There is a warning not to use darts not meant for the gun. Although there's also a warning not to mod it. v:v:v
Oh shit I used buzzbee darts in my Barrel Break :tinfoil: (They work BTW)

They've been advertising and including streamlines with basically EVERY NEW NERF GUN and then they make possibly one of the coolest and most simple guns to date, and it uses darts that were used in the maverick and before. what.
Well, they do work (at least for me) on the left barrel. They go an astounding ~5 feet. [editline]03:49PM[/editline] Addendum: Left barrel fails at streamlines forever, right barrel gets ~20ft. (Ironically, the right barrel somewhat fails at normal darts.)
You are thinking of HvZ. http://humansvszombies.org/ I'm thinking of typing up an HvZ megathread in a bit.
The university I'm going to has this game. I'm joining, though I haven't touched a NERF gun in years. Does anyone here play HvZ?
The university I'm going to has this game. I'm joining, though I haven't touched a NERF gun in years. Does anyone here play HvZ?
We played it at my school. We had a lot of balancing issues and the game was over a lot sooner than the mods intended. There were also a lot of issue with noise complaints and general obstructiveness because all the dormitories were HvZ active from 6am to 12am. That said it was a lot of fun, one big glaring issue and you'll find this where ever you play with Nerf and tag based HvZ. Nerf guns SUCK for a game like this. Depending on the gun you have, Raider being the best, you're basically using a musket to shoot "Zombies" and instead of bullets it shoots foam darts with a max range of 20 feet on a windless day. Where as Zombies just have to run up and tag you. So playing as a human involves a lot of running away, there's also a lot of issues with zombies not stopping after they've been shot either due to knowing they were shot or just not wanting to. It's a fun game, but honestly I think it'd be a lot more fun with something like airsoft.
So we are having this big Humans vs. Zombies thing at my University and I need a nerf gun/guns. I really know nothing about them, so I figured here would be a good enough place to ask. Specifications: -Reasonably sized (IE: Not that huge fucking belt fed machine gun thing). Able to be fasted to or put inside my backback when not in use. -Preferably not a pistol -Very high ammo capacity, or mag fed. Preferably the latter. Trying to reload the muzzle loading nerf guns one dart at a time seems impossible to do in the midst of a attack. -Reasonable ROF. A fast pump action would work, but an air powered pump-up full auto would be supreme (No batteries). Any ideas? Or does what I want not exist?

http://www.amazon.com/Raider-Rapid-CS-35-Blaster-Value/dp/B00284C4RS It's mag fed with a drum, 35 dart capacity so you'll be hard pressed to run out. It's pump action using a handle which means you're not going to be fumbling with a bolt or slide. It can also be bump fired which means you just hold down the trigger and pump the gun and it shoots, so it has a pretty fast rate of fire. No batteries or anything either. Also comes with one of the best stocks released and is an overall perfect gun for HvZ. You also get a fuckton of darts when you buy it. Yet for some reason I see people using Recons and Longstrikes, and they're the people that die first day.
HvZ sounds like so much fun. I wonder if the college near me does it
At was at my cousin's house using the one with the removable stock and barrel. The one with the laser sight on it. It was pretty fun actually, but I'll probably never get one. I prefer airsoft.
I lol every time I look at the kids on the boxes trying to look all hardass.

They're completely different things, stop saying you "prefer" one over the other. One is a toy and the other is not.
They're completely different things, stop saying you "prefer" one over the other. I prefer airsoft. Only if we're battling inside of my own house, do I prefer Nerf.

Maybe he'd rather spend his money on airsoft stuff?
I prefer Nerf because it's cheaper in general and I can shoot people/my cat/whatever with it Plus when I was a kid Nerf guns weren't this cool Also my local Target has the Alpha Trooper CS18s already out. I was debating it but I decided not to.
Maybe he'd rather spend his money on airsoft stuff?
That aside, he doesn't have to be that way about it.
This thread brings back memories
Painting/modding my RFR Not anywhere near done yet, the black is a primer but I think I might keep the stock and the grip black. Thoughts?
Have an artistic rating.
Keep that colour scheme. It looks great just like that.
Keep that colour scheme. It looks great just like that.
I'm going for a Steampunk look hence the copper pipe and the U bolts + I have some gears and shit I agree though, it looks damn fine as is Does anyone have any idea how I can fasten that copper pipe onto the top for a "scope?" The U-Bolts would work fine as the moving parts don't touch there. I was thinking some large eyelets and using magnet tape to keep the pipe secure, but also more modular, but the eyelet only has 1 screw which would interfere with moving parts. Something like this, maybe? Imagine if all the armies in the world used these instead of real guns. Best war ever.
do they have massive NERF tournaments?
Imagine if all the armies in the world used these instead of real guns. Best war ever.
I can picture that. A gigantic sea of foam darts, with soldiers kinda wading through it.
gunships would be useless cause the propwash would blow the darts away.
gunships would be useless cause the propwash would blow the darts away.
But could you imagine a NERF tank? FTHOOP!
but could you imagine a nerf tank? Fthoop!
"oh my god you hit me in the eye" "sorry!"
HAHA oh wow, best post in the thread by far. Sad news: I can't get ahold of a longstrike.
