I've been hearing rumors that the Nerf Specter has just been, or is about to be, released, anyone know anything else? Near as I can tell, this isn't true at all.

Why would you want it? It's been proven that it's a weaker maverick with one less dart slot.

Has anyone actually made a Maverick speed-loader (those things with the six grips for the bullets, I think the reload animation for the Spy's revolver in TF2 uses one) yet? It would require the taking-chamber-out mod, but it would be p. handy.

The grip is absolute crap, the 'flashlight' is useless, it's hard to reload (awkward magazine placement and awkward magazine release placement), and it's ugly!

The grip is a little loose, but it's stable, the light is the same one as the mounted ones, and it's definitely not hard to reload unless you have no motor coordination skills. You use your thumb to hit the release while your fingers/palm grip the mag. It's pretty easy. Also it's a beautiful gun.

The deploy doesn't make sense to me. It's a gimmick.

The Deploy is NOT shit, as Yuki said, it'll work well at night in a forest I guess. But really I prefer to change the LED for a bulb. I guess that'll work as a mod.

The deploy shouldn't have been marketed as a flashlight, but as a portable blaster, but they probably felt that they'd get flak if they marketed it as as portable, concealable blaster so they did it as a flashlight instead. Personally, I like it even though I've got a modded longshot and a couple other superior guns in terms of performance, mainly because, well, like I said, it's portable and I can easily fit it in a bag with my other blasters when I head out to play a game. I really wish they kept the Longshot internals instead of the Recon's, because that kinda ruins a lot of its modding potential. :sigh:
