NERF Thread; AKA "Back in 'nam... Darts everywhere"

So I got a job, my first task is to get
2 vulcans (heavy weapons)
2 stampedes (run n gun)
2 recons ("sniper")
and have a 3v3 in my backyard, with enough ammo for everyone to NOT have to pick up darts. Considering I have nothing else to spend my money on, I should have the cash for all this by summer.
Anybody got "Class" ideas? I picked mine from that nerf war office thing.
haha recon sniper
:frogdowns:

Why did the image of someone swimming in a room full of darts come to my mind?

Wondering if I should buy a second one for me and make it into the Quake 3 BFG :v:

i see no resemblance. make sure there is a basic resemblance between your desired guns.

I thought with the way the large black part of the NERF gun was shaped it sort of looked like the BFG.
You do realize the piece below that is critical to the function of the gun, right?
They need to invent a nerf vacuum thing for picking up darts.
Suck them out of the air before they hit!
Well, maybe not quite like that, But I guess it'd be kind of nice.

They still sell these?! I remember getting one of those back when I was, like, 12.
2 years isn't that long of a time.

A cheap transponder in the tip of every dart that connects to a separately sold locator thing.
I dunno, it could work

Darts would cost like $1 a dart, minimum.

Not so great for HvZ, but you'd hardly ever lose them in your house, if they worked right.

I'll get right on it, sir sparrow.

Noticed a spot for the Nerf Spectre at Walmart today, but according to the guy working that department, they had six on order, but none in stock. The site also doesn't list them. So they probably come out either tomorrow or Thursday.
I'm an HvZ player, and the Stampede is awesome. I used two rechargeable RC batteries, one 9.6V, the other 4.8V, hooked up in a simple circuit with a 3-way switch to adjust voltage (off, 9.6V, 14.4V). At 14.4V, it fires 5-6 darts per second, which is too fast for the Raider's drum (which jams at that speed). At the lower setting it behaves like an ordinary Stampede.
I added a 2-point sling and reflex sight I use with airsoft, and I typically run with my airsoft loadout, as Soviet AK magazine pouches are fantastic for Nerf magazines.
Oh, and all those people going HURR PLAI ARSOFT can just stop. I play airsoft, paintball, and Nerf. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, and unless you can find a zombie-themed airsoft game that lasts a week and has 700+ players, I'll be sticking with Nerf.

The Spectre looks really awesome, just saw a video and noticed that the new cylinder rotation may reduce jamming issues drastically, plus the accessories that come with it look pretty neat.
The Maverick already never jams.
The Maverick already never jams.
Yes it does, it fires the dart mid-rotation, so if the dart does not leave the cylinder in time, it gets caught. The spectre, however, rotates the cylinder when it is cocked, which would totally eliminate any possibility of that previous issue.

Odd, mine never does this. Maybe a few times, but I thought it was a problem with not pulling back the action all the way and/or not pulling the trigger back all the way.
The Maverick jams all the freakin' time. Here we lost literally dozens of people to jams. The reason is, while it works great in testing, if you are swinging the Maverick around (say, while being chased by a horde of angry zombies) the cylinder shakes out of alignment, the dart doesn't leave the barrel, and the whole mechanism gets stuck.
The fix is to open it up and glue the slip clutch, locking the cylinder to the trigger. It's a very easy mod, and thanks to it nobody in my squad died due to a jam.
Oh well I haven't ever played HvZ (being still in High School and with no friends cool (or crazy) enough to try it, but that makes sense.
Any videos on it though? I would have no idea what I was looking at if I opened it up simply through verbal direction.
Just a quick response to Timebomb757's comments, I can't seem to find any extra belts for the Punisher :(
just a question, are the longshots discontinued? i cant seem to find one at all :smith:
