Didn't do much to my longshot, you can't really do advanced mods in a college dorm room, haha. Just took the barrel out of the barrel extension and swapped it with the short stock barrel. Then I ripped off the bipod.
Did you literally rip the bipod off? Because I can't.
I have my CS-6 Recon, and I love it to death. Don't have any darts though. I might paint it.
Gun: Nerf Longshot
List of Modifications:
-Removed air restrictor.
-Added second spring.
-Added ability to fire stefan darts.
-Removed rear stock.
-Removed entire barrel.
-Added shoulder strap.
-Removed miscellaneous plastic parts to simplify gun internals.
-Created double sided clip.
Result:
The most powerful pistol in nerf history.
Thats right.
I turned sniper rifle into pistol.

The gun.

The clip.

Size compared to 15.6" laptop.

Scaring the crap out of my roommate.
I've never measured the range, but I believe it is at least 100ft.
Also, a tip to future modders. Nerf gun barrels do not follow conventional gun logic. A barrel does not make the dart more accurate. The only thing a barrel does is greatly reduce the power of the gun. The above gun is just as accurate as a Longshot, but at a third of the length.
Did you literally rip the bipod off? Because I can't.
Yes. It's a tough son of a bitch, but it is entirely possible to do. I learned later that you can actually just remove the screws at the front end of the longshot and use a small screwdriver to undo the screws holding the bipod legs on. Either way works, though.
Let me go resize those images.
[editline]04:12PM[/editline]
Ok, smaller images are up. Sorry for the crappy camera phone quality.

Oh really?
What's better, the longshot or the longstrike?
Price is not an issue

Oh really?
At least I can't. I don't have any tools or anything like that other than a few screwdrivers.

Longshot is newer (I think)
[editline]11:57PM[/editline]
I'm working on getting us some discounts on hasbrotoys.com
Aww, the newer longshots are now yellow instead of a deep blue and they only have one clip instead of the 2 that the blue one had :colbert:
And I like the blue color more than the yellow
[editline]07:35PM[/editline]
When you look down the nerf scope what do the crosshairs look like?
Google has nothing on this
What's better, the longshot or the longstrike?

Longshot by far.
The Longstrike certainly looks cooler, but it uses the less efficient reverse plunger system.
The Longshot has a direct plunger system, giving it far more potential, especially when modified.
When it comes to Nerf guns, the Longshot is the best, hands down. The internals are simpler and beefier, which leads to less jamming than other guns.

Longstrike is brand new. (Also a slight disappointment. It's a shame they didn't use the same internals as the Longshot.)
Here's a promo code for 10% off all nerf products at : www.hasbrotoyshop.com
NERF2010
Enjoy. Right now they're having a sale on the Recon CS-6, 15$ instead of 20.

Good job. How long does the code last?
Should last for about 2-3 months.
It's not even the permanent code, if I get another, I'll post it here. Trying to go a BIT further and get a referall program going on so I can raffle off nerf guns or something.
If anyone of you guys see the Spartan NCS-12 on store shelves while you're shopping, tell me via PM, please.
imagine a Nerf Thermal Sight :mmmsmug:

Powered by 3 AAA batteries.
That sounds awesome but jammy in a way.
Trying to find a good blaster that isn't expensive and is compatible with clip system darts.

HOLY SHIT... I have to get that gun. Shit, when is that thing coming to Canada?
I've been invited to a giant nerf sword fight by a buddy of mine, gonna make some armor out of cardboard and hit people with foam swords for fun! As a rugby player I also get to hit them very, very, hard, becuase I've heard the new ones actually kinda hurt.
Can't wait to get the Deploy and the new 2010 series guns, also found this on the SG-Nerf blog and thought it was pretty funny.

Does anyone have any nerf gun mod videos that aren't hosted by fucking 9 year olds? I've always wanted to do it but I always rage whenever I try to watch the youtube tutorials because their voices make my ears bleed, not to mention they don't really say anything helpful.
[editline]11:57PM[/editline]
Just for range/speed. Not ROF or anything like that.
If there is one thing I know about Nerf guns it's this.
You'll always loose all the ammo...all of it.
I love the Recon CS-6

Take off all the attachments (that orange tube should come off too) and you got something fairly close to a Mass Effect Pistol.

Better picture showing what the pistol would look like in use. Need to paint it some black/red in there for maximum effect.
They look poorly made.
they need to start making toys out of metal like the good ol days.
I was thinking of just jamming a huge spring into my Nite Finder and plating it in thin metal sheets or something, the spring'd be a bitch though.
Went down to my local Toys 'r' us in portsmouth, they stock every single nerf gun! Picked up a recon Cs-6, its awsome!
Couple of things though
-The back stock is only held together by thin plastic tubes, so tends to wobble
-The RIS rail system on top of the gun is about 16-7 MM, meaning i can't put my £50 holographic sight for my airsoft gun on it, which is a little dissapointing.
-The red dot sight is just a red torch with a magnifying lense.
BUT
it was only £20 for the gun and two extra ammo packs, so i'd say its worth it! :3

The revolver is the most reliable nerf gun ever made

This looks almost exactly like the Tempest SMG off Mass Effect 2

Anyone also know where to get a bunch of Nerf guns in Perth?
The revolver is the most reliable nerf gun ever made
I CAN be. I've seen stock revolvers that miss-fire half the time. On the other hand, I've seen ones that are pretty reliable. Overall, the Maverik is no longer the most reliable gun. I'd say either the Rapidfire AS-10 or the Longshot.
Yuki Should add the discount code to the OP
Which one fires the darts with the highest force? (I have one of those manual pistols around here and some revolver thing)
You can of course make your own pneumatic airgun with something around a 3/8" barrel which is the most powerful but unless you have a portable air compressor they're a pain in the arse to recharge with air on the fly
Longshot is easily the best though (modded)
