I don't really like the idea of flywheel guns either, but from what I hear about the barricade, it's better than other flywheel guns currently out there. Besides, there aren't many other ways to get semi-auto functionality.
There are plenty of ways, both electrical or mechanical, what are you talking about

What mechanical options are there aside from air pressure/CO2 tanks?

Having the trigger pull also cock the gun, or possibly a setup that uses recoil from the spring to cock the gun? I'm no engineer, but I'm sure there's other designs that could accomplish the same thing without using an outdated flywheel design.

like an over-sized airsoft gun gearbox or someshit
One night I was convinced that you could shoot nerf darts with an airsoft gearbox.
Stayed up all night, turns out I was wrong :v:

Well if you put two in, and it made a pump action shotgun it might be kind of cool.

There was an offbrand nerf gun that had the trigger pull back the spring, but they had to use a smaller spring/plunger tube in order to make it relatively easy to fire, resulting in lackluster results. Also, I don't think springs produce recoil that way.
I think people will find you hard to take seriously when you're running around with guns that look like children's toys.
If the guns looked realistic, people would freak out. If they looked unrealistic, they would look stupid.
Hence, they look like Children's Toys. Fun for Children AND Adults alike. Why not have a real-life FPS game, but without the dying and warfare and children soldiers and such. Nerf is just a fun game, don't see how you wouldn't like it.
Because it doesn't hurt, you can play it inside, it's hard to do damage to any property with them, and because it's fun to be silly.
Friend's mom cracked her head open on corner of a wall while playing with water guns indoors. No more playing with guns indoors, whether they be water guns or nerf guns.
We have strict Airsoft Restrictions here anyways though, so Nerf is much better. You need an Airsoft Field to go Airsofting, whereas Nerf can be done anywhere.
Barrel break is a weapon of choice for me.
So much like a double-barreled shotty for me.

I got a springer sa80 and you can fit a streamline into the barrel at the front (and push it down to the inner barrel) and when fired i get some range, cant show as i lost all my darts =/ but when i get more i will try to show
Question, if i got some of those poppers that wrapped in those bits of paper (the ones that go bang/pop when you throw them on the ground) and stuck them on the tips of nerf dart, would they go bang when they hit the wall?
Probably would make the dart to non-aerodynamic to get anywhere :v:
Probably would make the dart to non-aerodynamic to get anywhere :v:
what if you put them though the hole in the tip (there's a small hole on both streamline and whistler)
anyway just got back from toy's 'r' us in swindon, feck all nerf there, only the stampede which i don't want, no nerf dart refills or nothing

oh god if i buy one i'm seriously painting it
any tips?
Use a good primer, use a good paint and have patience of a fucking stonehenge.
Good sense of asthetics helps.
Can anyone finnish say do you got longstrikes for sale?
Since I can't get a longstrike to mod I think I'm going to take a journey overseas if you gots some there.
I want my fucking anti-tank longstrike mod.
i wish they make one that can put attachments like grenade launcher that fires smoke bombs or some shit like that
[editline]29th December 2010[/editline]
question.
what do you with the primer?

Actually, Nerf guns' rails are pretty close to a normal Picatinny rail on any actual gun or airsoft gun.
[editline]29th December 2010[/editline]
And even if they don't work, you could always ziptie it to the underbarrel.
Walk dogs. I live in a really nice neighborhood, so everybody overpays, but walking dogs will earn an impressive income. And if you can get two families and walk 2+ dogs you'll make even more. I just walk 2 dogs and that's $20 an hour. Plus you can do it every day, as apposed to having to know multiple families and only being able to do it every so often.
Mowing lawns is a pain in the ass, but I'd probably walk dogs and mow lawns if I could...but I live in California and hardly anyone has a lawn to mow.
man my country sucks
the only way for kids to get money is
1)someone gives you money
2)work illegally
Just had an all out nerf war.
It sucks having to find all those darts in a messy ass basement... Anybody else hate losing darts?
primer prepares the surface so that the paint stays on/doesn't lose it's tone.
Also multible layers of thin paint helps.

Okay since there's no longstrike to be found within 1000 mile radius of where I am.
I'm sure you're pretty much tired of my maveric, but here it is one more time to gain your attention.

To prove I'm serious.
I am willing to give you a trade.
I can do you a commission, a drawing, digipainting, sum concept art(look under my avatar, on deviantart) if you send me a nerf longstrike in return. I'm going to mod the shit out of that longstrike and it's going to bear it's donators name somewhere.
It doesn't really have to work well, since the looks are what's important. But extra bonus points if it does.
Still looking for sponsors since christmas is over.
hmm
wait for longshot to be restocked
never seen longshot on uk amazon
Oh lord, my younger brother got four of these for Christmas.
He isn't strong enough to fire the Revolver, the Double barrel is a pain to reload, the Longshot Sniper; he broke already, and he just uses the laser sighted one to torment the dog.
I feel as if I'm too old to be messing with these, but HNNG.
then order from somewhere else
then order from somewhere else
problem with that is when i find it some where else it ends up being abroad and they want to charge £30+ for shipping

not annoying enough
Sadly my brother bought me one for Christmas. As he didn't like playing let's shoot at a wall until mum complains that you might damage it by himself.
