Cops mistaking it is a bit of an issue, but I think whether or not black looks good on a nerf gun is more a matter of opinion/implementation.

I Decided to weather my paint job a little, It looks much better than before, but i can't decide whether to paint the slide black or keep it silver

I may have been a bit vague before. what you have done is [b] perfectly OK [/b]. What I meant was that hundreds of little kiddes get a spray can and spray Black on , and leave it at that. Looking at your previous picture , it looked like you were heading down the same route. Clearly not. [b]The weathering really looks good.[/b]

Drybrushing with silver paint, looks really good for stuff like this, also I've got a little surprise coming up, it will make the gun look unique, instead of just a plain ol' revolver.

It's where you put paint on a brush (silver paint here) and wipe off most of the the paint on a paper towel or on some scrap material (to where you can touch it with your fingers and very little, to none comes off) and then going over edges and corners (Becuase that is where all the wear should be) until you have a result you like.

Instead of putting your entire hand over the top of it, just grab the back with your index finger and thumb, it works better, and you don't have to do hand yoga if you have an attachment on it, but I'm probably going to get a strip of scrap leather and loop it through that hole on the slide so It's alot easier.

Also I found some leather strips at a craft store, braided them (like a boss) and put them through the circular hole on the back of the slide on the maverick and tied it up to make a loop, Make cocking it 100 times easier.
Ill post a pic of it on when i post a pic of my "surprise" now that i have the materials for it.

Strap a few rubber bands or 2 bungee cords to the front and pull-back thing on that gun, it will shoot the darts farther.

If it's one ore the other, go with the flip clip. The recon is weak and has low modding potential.
