No, you've done enough. I'll help him clean up. You go home and think about what you've done.

I'm happy, she said
GAH I want this in book form so I can have it on my glass aquarium coffee-table in my Swiss post-modern chalet up in the mountains, so I can read it when the sun hits the ceiling windows and reflects the warmth on to my blonde-wood reading chair, sipping a cup of apple cider!
THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO ME.

Did the stickfigure suddenly transform into Slenderman?
Or was he Slenderman all along?
I never thought that he was so emotional.

The character wasn't originally in that comic; I just felt I needed something to put in there make it seem less autobiographical. I think it works, and it definitely ties into a future storyline I have plans for.
The slenderness of the character came from drawing him again for the first time in months. I only do serious sessions of comic-making in the Summer, then use that backlog up during the year. I pulled the proportions in this one from memory and my memory isn't as good as I like to think it is

Sometimes I don't post the comics here because I run out of time, etc. I tend to update the site and then, if I have time, branch out and update the tumblr and twitter and facebook and facepunch; sometimes I do miss FP out. The ones I don't post here are all on the site though!
Sorry for the lack of updates. It's been pretty busy recently with a bunch of personal and academic projects eating up most of my time.

I still don't understand what this means
I still don't understand what this means
It's okay; I don't expect everybody to get it.
It's sort of about reading between the lines in this one; you've got the tall one reciting a conversation that he had with a woman. He's only repeating what she said, not anything that he himself said. We're supposed to sort of imagine what he could have said for her to reply 'Oh... I think you should see a doctor about that' and how disastrous that would have been on a first date.

New comic, as promised;

Sort of reminds me of XKCD. Smart, with a simple style that isn't simple when you really look at the detail.
Alright Maloof.. usually I am a lurker.. but holy fuck i love you.
And i mean that in whatever way you want to interpret it :P
But seriously I love your art. you have the style i love and I can sense who your are from them, and your good people. I was listening to Radical face(who i also love by the way, THANK YOU!) through this whole thread. that bad has the same melancholy but sort of happy undertones that your art has, and very much the same feeling i go through everyday life with.
Ehh.. I guess I can't really figure out what im trying to say either, but i had to say something. your work affects me in profound ways. I can't thank you enough.
Also: i noticed you went full digital with your last comic.. and whereas i love it, I feel like your traditional comic has a more personal touch, and keeps true to the comics feeling more.
But whatever you do i'm a fan for life. Keep doing what you do. you really are a great inspiration.

Wow! That's awesome to hear! I haven't set up a comment system on the site or a hit counter yet so it's impossible to know whether I'm reaching anybody. To hear that it's getting you in all the right ways and reaching you so strongly; that means so, so much right now.
The digital was something I thought I'd try just to get a quick comic out. It ended up taking about the same length of time as a traditional one though, so I'm not sure if I'll stick with the computer haha
Where did you find out about Radical Face?

Hello, friends. Life, as always, has been getting all up in my business. But here is a comic for you, fresh of the press. Trouser press, that is! Hah, cottage industry.
One month left to finish the ‘demo’ for Cardigan! I’ll update this post with a link sometime next week to give you all the latest beta. I’ve tidied up some of the animations, added some new types of objects to play with for solving puzzles with and have drawn up a few more puzzles to start putting together in Flash.
Other than that everything is ambling along. I need to draw one comic to link the earlier comics in the ‘Abroad’ series with the rest of the ‘Abroad’ comics I’ve already drawn up. Hopefully I’ll have time soon.
Your website is down?

It shouldn't be! It's up for me now. Very strange!
Is anybody else having trouble accessing it?

Here's what I get if that's any help.
It seems to be working now.
I really like your style and messages in these comics. The rest is great as well. Keep it up!

Sorry I haven't had time to look into the issue; it may have been simply that your cache needed to be refreshed (or something along those lines, I'm not really a webmaster)
Thanks heaps! Hopefully in a month's time I'll be able to get back to regular weekly updates for a while
