15 round Glock 19 mags are $80 on CTD. What the fuck. That's not anywhere near high capacity. That's the standard capacity that's always been offered for Glock 19 mags.
What's sad is, CTD is going to have to keep those prices that high, even after this all dies down. The customer base that they lost due to their gouging is likely pretty large.
Yeah, it's stuff like this that makes me hate CTD. And I used to order everything from them.
yeah fuck cheaper than dirt and the people dumb enough to order from them right now. The clear lancer mags I got for my SG556 were like 10-12$ before all this shit started, now they're 40$. CTD wants 99$ for a steel stanag Fuck cheaper than dirt
dirt must be super expensive now
Alright gentlemen, question time: How hard do you think it would be to reproduce it, or to even make an extended version? I was thinking a 10-12 round magazine. I mean, they look damn-right rudimentary, single-stack magazines. That shouldn't be too hard and it isn't illegal to make mags, is it? [editline]4th February 2013[/editline] That and M57 TT mags are through the roof expensive.
dirt must be super expensive now
They didn't say it was dirt from Earth But yeah, I've had a few orders with CTD. Bought these fleece lined cases for my Garand and carbine just before all this insanity. Never again. [editline]4th February 2013[/editline] Apparently I've only ever made two purchases from them. October 18, 2008 - Israeli gas mask, drop leg holster (both for a Halloween costume) December 8, 2012 - the gun bags
I got three steel 30 round AR mags and a steel 10 rounder from CTD back in November, was $30 shipped. I mean had they waited until the panic buying it might have looked like they were just going with the market but noo...
I ain't bought shit aside from my moisty awhile ago, and that was secondhand from one of my grandma's connections (she knows a lot of people who served in the war so I got a wartime nugget for like $80)
how did i just now find out about the kel tec rfb its so cool
They're pretty cool but I've heard they can take some serious breaking in. Also I'm not a big fan of the way the shells just kinda slide out.
And there are like 20 of them in existence.
If I had money and I knew they were in stock, I'd totally buy a Kel-Tec gun.
Where's RR_Raptor when you need him...
Yeah, it's stuff like this that makes me hate CTD. And I used to order everything from them.
On the subject of price gouging, Precision is doing some gouging of their own. I don't know the numbers off hand, but they got some Essential/Del-Ton AR kits in and made a post on Facebook about the price. They wouldn't say the price, but basically told people not to complain. They also had a Kel-Tec KSG for almost $2500. I'm sorry, but any retail store that bases prices on demand rather than the actual value are crooks in my opinion. Manufacturers do not deviate from their prices, so you aren't losing any money, you are just taking advantage of people. If you sell out, you sell out, you still make the same money you would have before, and your business keeps going.
Where's RR_Raptor when you need him...
idk probably making a batch of muskets or something

Would you rather individuals buy all their shit on day 1, the store then goes out of business because there is no more cash flow, while those same individuals mark things up 200% and sell them?
supply and demand curve demand sharply increased so market price compensated to reach equilibrium
idk probably making a batch of muskets or something
Not this time, just turning eggs and waiting for these damn IR LEDs to get here... That Flintlock pistol is getting finished this month though, gonna take her with me to Kalifornia after my second Emu egg hatches for a test firing with my biological father, brother and sisters, be the first time I'll meet them in person. Best year ever.
I completely understand supply and demand, but when it's only a fraction of your store's actual income, it's solely price gouging. For an example, the store I mentioned in the same post is actually a firing range, not a gun shop. They do sell a few firearms, but their actual stock is incredibly low. I'd wager 90%, most likely more, of their income comes from the range. The gun stores around here actually sell more than just ARs, AKs, magazines, and the select few calibers of ammunition that are selling out quickly. They largely sell hunting rifles, shotguns, and your average everyday pistols. None of the actual gun stores around here have raised prices on anything, and they definitely aren't hurting by any means. Midway, Brownells, and Buds are other examples as well. They are periodically getting things in stock, but none of them are raising their prices. Some of them are implementing limitations on the amount people can order, but I don't really have a problem with this. It may be inconvenient, but it at least gives people a fair chance. I've missed out on several opportunities because of mags being bought out almost instantaneously. I'd rather be limited to buying two mags, than not being able to buy mags at all.
You're supposed to increase supply to reach equilibrium. Increasing price messes up the whole market
anyone see the gun control add during the superbowl? They used kids as pawns again, makes me kinda mad.
The first time I read that, I thought you were talking about having the Sandy Hook Chorus up with Jennifer.... something-or-other. They were pretty damn good singers, though! (Also, it didn't play here in VA, so I had no idea what you were talking about until it was linked later).

So I have a thread you might be interested in, maybe? I mean, if you're curious of the work that goes into selling guns.
Did you see my earlier post? How hard do you think that would be to pull off?
Well I dunno how Kel Tec designed it, but I'd been working on a homebrew bullpup similar to that in both 5.56 and 7.62. Probably won't work though, I made this convoluted system to strip a cartridge off the magazine and push it in front of the bolt since the bolt, even with as small as it is doesn't clear over the top of the magazine. The upside is it works a bit like an AR-15, the only external movement is at the ejection port, the charging handle doesn't move at all. Uses a 20 inch barrel in a gun smaller than a typical AR-15 though. I'd get back to working on it but I have so damn much on my plate as is and I'm more inclined to work on that WH40k bolt pistol, or a breech loading cannon for when I get around to building my biplane. :v: When I can afford a mill and a lathe though, then I can really make fun stuff.
