So I have a thread you might be interested in, maybe? I mean, if you're curious of the work that goes into selling guns.
I do the same thing up here in Canada.
keltec makes me moist
Well I dunno how Kel Tec designed it, but I'd been working on a homebrew bullpup similar to that in both 5.56 and 7.62. Probably won't work though, I made this convoluted system to strip a cartridge off the magazine and push it in front of the bolt since the bolt, even with as small as it is doesn't clear over the top of the magazine. The upside is it works a bit like an AR-15, the only external movement is at the ejection port, the charging handle doesn't move at all. Uses a 20 inch barrel in a gun smaller than a typical AR-15 though. I'd get back to working on it but I have so damn much on my plate as is and I'm more inclined to work on that WH40k bolt pistol, or a breech loading cannon for when I get around to building my biplane. :v: When I can afford a mill and a lathe though, then I can really make fun stuff.
W-what? :v: I was asking about the magazine post!
Oh I missed that, thought you were talking about that Kel Tec. Yeah it'd be fairly easy to make mags, hard part would be making the dies to press em into shape. Use a regular bench vise to press em into shape around the forms and a small spot welder to seal em shut, or you can just set em as a butt joint and run a bead down the seam which would avoid overlap. You can use the original mags to source the right thickness of sheet. The original mags are probably alloy steel, you can use mild steel but it won't temper as well and will wear fairly quick and alloy steel can be a bit tricky to temper depending on what you use. The springs would definitely need to be high carbon or alloy steel but it's a lot easier to get alloy steel wire than it is stock and sheet. When I get around to my AK build I'll be making my own mags based on the MG13 mags, those will probably be easier to make than pistol mags really.
What I learned today: 1) The 10/22 needs either better-sights or just an optic, shoots high 2) I'm really good with the M1 Carbine 3) We need more .45 4) I shoot better with full-on .357 than I do .38
Sportsman's guide doesn't appear to have raised most of their stuff, which is nice.
Yeah that would be handy if they had anything in stock
Sportsman's guide doesn't appear to have raised most of their stuff, which is nice.
sportsman's guide is fucking amazing
I completely understand supply and demand, but when it's only a fraction of your store's actual income, it's solely price gouging.
For a place like Walmart or Gander Mountain, maybe.
For an example, the store I mentioned in the same post is actually a firing range, not a gun shop. They do sell a few firearms, but their actual stock is incredibly low. I'd wager 90%, most likely more, of their income comes from the range.
You should probably ask.
The gun stores around here actually sell more than just ARs, AKs, magazines, and the select few calibers of ammunition that are selling out quickly. They largely sell hunting rifles, shotguns, and your average everyday pistols. None of the actual gun stores around here have raised prices on anything, and they definitely aren't hurting by any means. Midway, Brownells, and Buds are other examples as well. They are periodically getting things in stock, but none of them are raising their prices. Some of them are implementing limitations on the amount people can order, but I don't really have a problem with this. It may be inconvenient, but it at least gives people a fair chance. I've missed out on several opportunities because of mags being bought out almost instantaneously. I'd rather be limited to buying two mags, than not being able to buy mags at all.
They're not raising prices, but you might notice that if they get a high value item in stock, you usually have half an hour tops to get your order in before it's gone. How many people do you think are actually buying this stuff? I'd wager the vast majority of it is either other stores buying it to fill their shelves, individuals buying it to hoard and never shoot, or individuals buying it, then reselling at higher price.
im going to predict a letter sent to 16bit from matt salmon
http://www.tech-sights.com/ruger3.htm
Good I love that company!
Y'know, if they made a Glock with the "Homeboy night sights" on it, that may be the only Glock I'd ever buy. Image for reference:
Yeah that would be handy if they had anything in stock
They still have a bit left, it was all in stock a couple weeks ago, before this panic nonsense
4 what i could do a similar ad with an hour in Vegas someone pocketed that money somewhere and that's gross
Four million to air a 30 second ad during the Superbowl, not to make

He actually talks about that if you watch the rest of it
What time?
Not this time, just turning eggs and waiting for these damn IR LEDs to get here... That Flintlock pistol is getting finished this month though, gonna take her with me to Kalifornia after my second Emu egg hatches for a test firing with my biological father, brother and sisters, be the first time I'll meet them in person. Best year ever.
56 Days bro, and that emu will pop right out. (I am the grandson of the biggest emu rancher in Texas)
56 Days bro, and that emu will pop right out. (I am the grandson of the biggest emu rancher in Texas)
Yeah I know it, on day 30 now, got between 19 and 26 days to go. Just glad I've saved up so many projects to work on, perhaps too many. :v:
45$ at Walmart. Stuff is contracted through fiocchi supposedly.
I have a (dumb) question. How can I pin the bolt to my 10/22 open so I can shove the boresnake through it?
I have a (dumb) question. How can I pin the bolt to my 10/22 open so I can shove the boresnake through it?
Does it not have a last-shot hold-open? If it does, putting an empty mag in should do, if not then that's dumb.
Does it not have a last-shot hold-open? If it does, putting an empty mag in should do, if not then that's dumb.
Putting an empty mag in didn't help. I tried to have my girlfriend hold the bolt open while I pulled it through, but it's such a tight fit that it won't go all the way through the bore. .22 cal boresnake my left nut.
