All I got
Are you high? If anything they've been getting progressively worst since the Lebel and Berthier
I'm high on sugar right now, does that count? On another note: As some of you know, here Down Under we can't have handguns over .38cal. This causes some problems when shooting IPSC as every class except open requires over .40cal for shooting major. That is until Classic division (single stack 1911s only) came along last year. Classic division has a specific exemption stating we can shoot major with 357SIG. So, when my probationary period expires in 3 months I can get my first handgun, I was thinking I'd build a 1911 from a frame. I feel pretty comfortable with all the work that would go into it. I've got a few questions though, preferably someone with experience in 1911s can answer them: -Bull or normal barrel? I've heard because the bull barrel is in direct contact with the slide, that you have to replace the slide and barrel eventually due to wear between them, where as with the normal profile barrels you just replace the barrel bushing. -What frame? Norinco sells really cheap frames here (less than $200) and I've heard they're ok, does anyone agree? -What parts should I use? I'm pretty sure parts except barrels don't fall under ITAR so I should be able to order them from the US easily -Can I fit ambo parts to normal 1911 frames and slides? I had a few more questions but they slipped my mind
Ew, does anyone else think the French were really bad at designing guns until the FAMAS came along?
St. Etienne 1728 and RSC 1917 man. I'd love to get my hands on an original 1728 or RSC so I could make duplicates. The RSC with modern alloy steel in 7.62x54r would be amazing.
No change in price, can't go down any. It is what it is.
MSRP on those things is like 1500$ right? (before price gouging started) I say go for it, if you think its a good deal.

Well new thread so here's my meager collection in the form of a very Shitty, very hasty photo. 1943 Mosin Nagant and Nagant revolver. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/7EZ7k0y.jpg[/IMG_THUMB] Good quality family photo one of these days... [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Oh and we don't talk about the socked one...
My Guns:
Nice cat! :v: [editline]30th January 2013[/editline]
I will be mega jelly if you post an SVT-40 or a russian SKS
Heh, I have a Russian SKS...
I'll possibly post my collection after school, but I ain't got a car to post pictures of. Get my driver's license on Friday. c:
I'm feeling part of peasantry. No car and a single lowly mosin. I'm supposed to get a car as soon as I start college, but not having any money to start college puts a pretty big hamper on that. And knowing who's supposed to be getting me said car, it'll probably be an AMC Gremlin with a seat missing. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] On another note, I don't think I'll ever buy anything gun wise from Big 5 again. Just about all rifle ammo is 25+ a box and pistol ammo isn't much better. Of course, they do have a sale going $16.99 for a box of 50 9mm shells, but we sell them for 13 regular price where I work. I heard one of the managers over there supposedly came into work, bought a bunch of ammo, brought it back to Big 5, and jacked the price up.
Nice cat! :v: [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Heh, I have a Russian SKS...
Thank you sir, its an AWB compliant cat, no front claws.
So, no comments on my intent to build a 1911 in .357SIG?
I mean I've never heard of that combo before
So, no comments on my intent to build a 1911 in .357SIG?
as far as the round goes, a friend of mine has a glock he conceal carries in .357SIG and he really likes it. If you can build a 1911 in it, I say go for it.
The only downside I see to that is really expensive ammo unless you reload (which can still be expensive, unless you know where to get components for a great price.)
.357 sig is a sexy beast, that's for sure. But I've never heard of a 1911 chambered in it... that said if you can do it that'd be pretty cool... though building a 1911 is wickedly frustrating and it's one of the few I'd want done professionally.
So, no comments on my intent to build a 1911 in .357SIG?
Go for it. I want to build one in 5.7x28 (despite it's somewhat "uselessness") but 5.7x28 is banned in the socialist republic of Coldfuckistan, Norway.
I'll pick it up tomorrow then. I want one. I've been watching videos and hnghhhh
They are selling for over $2000 on gunbroker currently, so yea, I would get it. If you don't buy it, give me your shops number and I'll buy it, assuming they would ship it to my FFL. What is the condition on it? I am more partial to the M3 myself, but for that price, I'd BECOME partial to the M4.
Someone bought it five minutes before I got there :(
