You know actually that ak-12 looks really cool.
Fuck I forgot to add an AR-180 and several other things... fuckem! FUCKEM YOU HEAR ME!!!
Remington produces the selective fire (Military, LEO) variants. Also, I could go much, much further; but I think I've demonstrated enough with that list and my general posting in this thread that I'm a gun nut who would love to, one day, own atleast one of every type of modern firearm available. Granted, my career path makes it possible; though highly unlikely.
Also, please forgive my stupidity; but RCMP?
Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP, the national police force in Canada, who administer the "Canadian Firearms Program" and who screen every gun that makes its way into Canada so they can try and find a way to ban it so it can't be sold here.

[editline]11th February 2013[/editline]
It exists, but only in 16" 5.56. The promised caliber change kits or barrel kits were never produced.
When I hear ACR I think of Bushmaster, not Remington, my apologies.

Oooh, okay. I understand now, as well. And yes, I almost put Bushmaster; but then I remembered that Remington does the Select-fire variant that I'd rather have, so I went with their model.
Wants:
GI spec 1911
FN FAL
IWI Tavor
FS2000
PS90 SBR
unlimited ammo for all of the above
It sure sounded like you on /k/. We even talked about your ban here and the firearms thread... Hmmm.
oh that was me
i mean if you see me anywhere but /k/ its not me
even now im not me
My wishlist:
AK12 in 5.45
PSL
SVT-40
Mosin nagant sniper
Too much or too little slavshit? you be the judge.
hi I'm neat
I remember my dad had a friend in CA that had some kind of high-tech barrett sniper, which was designed to have maximum pressure in the chamber so you dont even have to do any compensation on a mile-away target, just center it and fire
Anyone know what I'm thinking of?
[editline]11th February 2013[/editline]
ALSO WHY THE FUCK HAS HK NOT RELEASED A SEMIAUTO MP7?!?!??!?
I understand that it might actually be illegal but that can be fixed with a few modifications
Playing HL2 and CS:GO is only increasing my insatiable hunger for an MP7 ;~;
My wishlist:
M16A4 style AR-15 with an ACOG
USP 45 with those cool box LAMs
AK-74
Mosin Nagant

Would you really want an MP7? 5.7 would be pretty damned expensive.

probably an M82
those fuckers are expensive
Would you really want an MP7? 5.7 would be pretty damned expensive.
5.7 is the P90 and Five-Seven, MP7 uses 4.6x30mm. Which is even less common, I think.
Would you really want an MP7? 5.7 would be pretty damned expensive.
I want a Five-seveN, and it fires the aforementioned (and as the pistol is named) ammo. As for the MP7, a buddy of mine in the navy fired a model of it, and said it was absolutely amazing.
Also, I might be wrong, but I'm pretty certain he said the model he fired wasn't a selective-fire, so they might be available; just not affordable.
EDIT: they do make a SF only model; the MP7-SF, which is currently being used by the United Kingdom Defense of Police Ministry. Now, whether the MP7 is importable and non-NFA is a whole other thing that I don't have much of a clue about, thanks to our crappy anti-Russian oddness in the fifties.

The MP7 is 4.6
Anyway, it would be a fun gun, nothing more

my bad, but even still. The round would be crazy expensive for civilians.
He's probably talking about a Barrett M82 or maybe an M99, but either way he's full of shit.
Explain why I'm full of shit
Kthx
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_recorded_sniper_kills for starters. These are trained marksmen with years of expertise behind each weapon, having to make ten to fifteen mil compensations at the ranges you're talking about. Yes, it's possible (as this proves in itself) to hit targets at that distance, but not without having to adjust the sights as you explained.
Explain why I'm full of shit
Kthx
Pants shittingly expensive.
Pants shittingly expensive.
Well he DID end up having his house foreclosed and he sold off the gun...
Pants shittingly expensive.
http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Barrett-82A1-Centerfire-Rifle&i=723645
Whaaat? Can't afford $10k on a hunting rifle that tenderizes, guts, and probably packages your deer for you?! :)
But yes, $10k initial plus the additional $12 a round if I remember correctly, and you have yourself the most economically useless gun, ever! Well.. maybe not ever, but it's close.
Explain why I'm full of shit
Kthx
it's outright false
Explain why I'm full of shit
Kthx
Because there probably isn't a gun out there where you don't have to compensate when you try to hit a target more than a mile out.
Because there probably isn't a gun out there where you don't have to compensate when you try to hit a target more than a mile out.
Please. Even the Frenchies could do it during World War I!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_gun
But in all seriousness; no. No way a shoulder-fired firearm is capable of zeroing at a mile.
Well maybe not zeroing but he didnt have to compensate at all for bullet drop
uh
that's zeroing
Well maybe not zeroing but he didnt have to compensate at all for bullet drop
yeah thats a load of crap
Not having to compensate for drop is impossible. Gravity even bends light, let along bullets.
Well.. the drop is conceivable, though extremely unlikely for that distance; due to the simple fact that at that type of range it becomes harder to evaluate average kinetic forces on the bullet such as wind, and just how extreme or light the air resistance will be. Granted, if you got remotely close to a mile dope, you're gun would be absolutely worthless at anything closer.
Granted the story MIGHT have been exxagerated to me; what I do know is that everyone else at the range at the time were having their bullets fall short of the targets, or required lots of compensation while he required virtually none
