bring back the m1919, standard issue weapons for everyone
Hm... Homemade ballistics gel for those interested; though something tells me it's still missing something to closer match soft-tissue consistency or mythbuster's-esque shooting targets. Oh well. It'll still look cool to pop a few high-powered rounds into, yes?

Not gonna bother reading it on my phone but mythbusters uses Knox gelatin with half the suggested amount of water. It's a near perfect analogue for human flesh
DAK was made for double-action only systems, and it's whole purpose is to aid with trigger short-strokes by giving it two reset points. Basically, when you pull the trigger all the way back to fire the gun it has a 6.5lbs pull. Once the gun has been fired, if you hold the trigger down while the slide is cycling you can engage the intermediate trigger reset point. The intermediate point is about half the distance to the standard reset point, and when you engage it, it has an 8lbs trigger pull instead of a 6.5lbs. It's basically there in case the user panics when trying to fire. Sig's intentions with the design was for the trigger to be reset fully every pull, and have the DAK system there in case of a screw up. Unfortunately, a lot of people use the system wrong, and they engage the intermediate pull every time, which gives them a much heavier pull.
I don't really see how much of a purpose the system would serve on a SA/DA though. I would like to see a brochure or something about what you are talking about if possible. Are you sure it isn't being listed as SA/DA or DAK?
The pamphlet listed 3 options on 226es for triggers, SA/DA, SA/DA SRT, and SA/DA DAK, and since DAK is only for DA, the fact that it says it's on a SA/DA gun seems redundant to me. Unfortunately I can't link the pamphlet right now, I'm on my phone.

I'm thinking it's just shitty wording on the pamphlet. There is no such option available on Sig's site.

DAO and DAK guns do not have decockers installed on them. They are double action only.
While other states are limiting capacity and what's legal, my state is becoming more awesome.

Yeee
I just got one of those a while ago, it's sitting on my bed with some half-assembled parts. I need to hurry up and get a 7.62x39 GO and NO-GO gauge so I can press the barrel in already.
Should I sell my G19

And buy a 1911?

And random 308 Garand, just for kicks.

Keep the G19, save up for a 1911.

But it's a Gen 2. I don't really care for it. It slides everywhere when firing.

This reminds of that one time I put up firecrackers in a pattern like that and sent to a girl I liked.
Then she became a lesbian :suicide:
whaaa Gen2?! I wants

If I didn't like my 1911 so much I'd trade you, heh. I really like Gen 2 Glock 19s.

Fuck Glocks, acquire 1911s.
I don't think I'll ever buy a Glock, and if someone gave me one, unless it was custom engraved or some shit I'd probably sell it.

Have you shot one? (I feel like you have said you have before but just humor me) cause I use to think that too, but Glocks are just so easy to shoot I can't hate them... I mean I might even like them.

the fact they're too easy to shoot is why a lot of people hate them, at least I do. It's ergonomics aren't that great for me and I don't like it's typical trigger safety or lack of hammer.

I totally understand personal opinion and I know what works for some won't work for others, but it just so happens a Glock feels good. Still need to try other pistols before I pick a favorite though, but it's prob CZ75B's and then Glock 17's as it stands today.

I did, I shot the Toronto Police service pistol, the G22. From what I remember it was terribly uncomfortable, gave my hand a cramp, and IIRC when it recoiled the slide would hit part of my hand. I may want to try again, admittedly the last time I shot a Glock was ~2 years ago, and I knew very little about techniques back then and possibly could have been holding it wrong.
That, and I don't like the way Glocks look. I'll pay the extra dosh for a more comfortable and better looking gun that overall I'll like more.
I've found that, for me anyways, Glocks are alot more comfortable without the finger groves.
Personally I prefer handguns with external hammers, but I appreciate the reliability that you get with a Glock. Might even get a Glock 19 someday
I understand. All that said, I would say try a Gen 4 in 9mm, I've found it to be much more pleasant to shoot than a G22, and that's partially why I dislike .40s&w beside it just being a pussy 10mm. Otherwise I understand everything else you said, personally there isn't enough meat on a 1911 grip for me to shoot it well. To each his own I suppose.

Yeah this one doesn't have finger grooves. It just slides around in my hand when shooting. After a couple rounds, my hand had slid up the back and when I fired, the slide dragged across the top of my thumb and left a mark, but didn't cut me. I thought about stippling it, but I just hate doing permanent mods to guns. I rarely own them forever.

I'd prefer a striker-fired for CCW, but having DA capabilities takes priority, whether via a decocker or DAO.

Granted, in Canada when the fuck am I ever going to carry? It's more likely that the government will steal all my pistols and semi-autos in 3 years than they'll legalize CCW.
