so, what are the arguments against instant backround checks when buying a firearm?
[sp]none[/sp]
Whats a good website or company to order 5.45×39mm off of for a decent price?
so, what are the arguments against instant backround checks when buying a firearm?
Argument: It's already in place.
Guys, we have to design a semi-automatic double barrel shotgun that holds 28 rounds for Joe Biden, this shall be our flagship model for Gunpunch Manufacturing.
Guys, we have to design a semi-automatic double barrel shotgun that holds 28 rounds for Joe Biden, this shall be our flagship model for Gunpunch Manufacturing.
Do the make left handed semi-autos? We could connect a left and a right handed gun together into one... Set it up with one trigger to, with options to choose either the left barrel, right barrel, both at the same time and alternating barrels

Also it must look like a Las Rifle /w wood stock.
Also it must look like a Las Rifle /w wood stock.
How 'bout this one, instead? [t]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/268/9/d/warhammer_40k_combi_bolter_by_clairegrube-d5fjeof.png[/t]
I already started on a regular bolt pistol not too long ago, hard part would be making the .75 brass cartridges. Oh and holding it up to shoot. :v: Thought about using 12 gauge brass shot shells but they're rimmed.
I would just cheap out and use .50 beowulf or something.
Because they can't keep up with demand.
If that were the case, every business imaginable would have similar prices, but alas, CTD are the only ones this big being this stupid. In the grand scheme of things, the high value items are only a part of the money that CTD makes. Assuming none of this was going on and they sold out of their stock, they wouldn't get it back right away. They would have the same wait times from manufacturers that they are getting now. Plan and simple, they are price gouging to take advantage of the situation. They would be in the same sold out boat, regardless of their prices. Supply/demand doesn't apply here, only greed.
To give you guys an idea on how much arbitrary prohibition fucks with gun prices, here's an example using 2 Colt Python revolvers, one that's legal in Canada, one that's not, but can still be bought by someone with a prohibited license who owned now banned guns before the ban: http://ellwoodepps.com/catalog/product/view/id/82268/s/colt-python/category/5/ This is the legal one http://ellwoodepps.com/catalog/product/view/id/82262/s/colt-python/category/5/ This is the prohibited one. Now yes, the legal one is a collector's edition, even still I've seen standard 6" Pythons going for $2500. What's stupid about the banned one is it's a 4" barrel, which is 102mm. The government deliberately set the minimum barrel length for handguns at 106mm for the sole purpose of banning nearly every pistol they could, and making it harder and more expensive for Canadians to get new pistols. The government at the time deliberately chose their handgun ban requirements because they wanted to ban half of all handguns in Canada at the time, they managed 56%. The 4" ban has led to some people doing things like re-barrelling pistols to avoid the prohibition, and IMO destroying a part of history, like this 110mm re-barrelled Luger. This is why I hate the Liberal and NDP parties, they don't give a fuck about important pieces of history like this, nor do they care about facts. They have an irrational gun-ban agenda based on nothing more than fear-mongering and myth, and history like this suffers because of it.
thats so gay but i thought all guns in canada could only have 5 shots?
thats so gay but i thought all guns in canada could only have 5 shots?
Handguns get 10 rounds
thats so gay but i thought all guns in canada could only have 5 shots?
and if you shoot at guys trying to molotov your house, you'll be tried for reckless discharge of a firearm, and improper storage of firearms and ammunition.
are you basically not allowed to defend yourself up there? gee wilickers that sucks [editline]20th February 2013[/editline] i love how we have no gun storage laws
are you basically not allowed to defend yourself up there? gee wilickers that sucks [editline]20th February 2013[/editline] i love how we have no gun storage laws
You can defend yourself, you just better have $100,000 lying around to prove it in the courts, because the cops will charge you anyways and activist prosecutors will press the charges.

CTD ain't the Salvation Army, and if i were a stockholder i'd be damn pissed if they're not charging as much as they can. It's common sense dude. [editline]20th February 2013[/editline] I don't even know if it's only CTD that raises it's prices, maybe it comes all the way down from the manufacturer.

It's common sense dude.
Regardless of the economics of the situation, which I agree with you about, CTD took all the "assault weapons" off their website and arbitrarily jacked up prices of bulk ammo to the point of being ludicrous and unfounded based off of competition prices in the market immediately following the shooting, and that makes them dirt IMO and completely justifies not buying from them. If they're going to retreat from selling their product due to the fact that it was used in a shooting, they don't deserve to be selling it, because they're implicitly accepting guilt for the shooting, and that reflects negatively on the gun community in general when they/we accept guilt for something they/we didn't do.

Budsgunshop.com is a good example of this. They raised prices on their firearms, ammo, and magazines by about 5-20%. CTD raised their prices by 300% in some cases. You can point to economics all you want but no amount of dwindling supply justifies raising prices 300% immediately after a school shooting.
I don't know, seems to me that keep selling " "assault weapons" " so recently after a massacre is an easy way to get a lot of (idiotic) bad press, specially while every moron is pointing fingers at the gun industry. Maybe it's a sound business idea to lay low for a bit and let everybody cool down. It's nothing personal after all: You're just trying to save your ass, just like everybody else. And then again, if you excessively raise your prices compared to the competition nobody is gonna buy from you. And if they do, so be it. If they sold their stuff then they did the right thing. If people payed 300% the original price they must have really, really valued that product, and there's nothing wrong with that, at all.

The day after the shooting, Walmart still had guns on their shelves, budsgunshop was still selling AR's, and classicfirearms was still selling AK74's. CTD are down right cowards, and I hope nobody here will ever give them money again.
The golden question is: Did they sell that stuff? y/n Nothing else is a concern. theres still no reason to charge $2000 for a rifle that was $900 2 weeks ago
