The problem is is that they did sell that stuff, they took advantage of a awful situation and took advantage of peoples desperation.
Who is to blame then, the people or the seller?. CTD are guilty of selling a product that people wanted at a price they were willing to pay. That's alright in my book. And since there's still scarcity, prices are still to low.
Yup, that is the crude reality.

Remember the floods in Thailand that destroyed every HDD manufacturer and storage facility? remember what happened to hard drive prices?. It's the same thing: Unmet demand.

They still took advantage of people's desperation after a school shooting. Theres a line you're not supposed to cross when it comes to raising prices like that, and raising it 300% to take advantage of the desperation is not OK in my book.
all in all, thanks, Obama.

Hey guys, do you know of a good home defense shotgun that can be fitted with a longer barrel for cheap?
I want to get a synthetic stock 870, but I'm not entirely sure how much an 18" barrel would be for it. I'm planning on shooting clays and keeping it stored under my bed with the shorty barrel for home defense. I know they're one of the easiest and cheapest shotguns to mod, so if anyone could direct me to how I would do such a thing, I'd great appreciate it.

Buy it with the short barrel already on it, it'll be about $300-$350, and buy a longer barrel, which are everywhere, for $150.
I find it fucking hilarious how you're defending a sites position on pricing, when their name specifically dictates that they wouldn't fucking do it.
It's ironic as hell.

I'm just trying to share some knowledge and add a bit of logic to the argument. People tend to make up a lot of bullshit morals in this matter, and it's important you understand what is really going on before judging.
Not different than anti-gun crap for that matter.
Buy it with the short barrel already on it, it'll be about $300-$350, and buy a longer barrel, which are everywhere, for $150.
Sounds good. Wasn't sure if the longer barrel or the shorter would be easier to find, but that clears it up. I see Midway and other places sell them, and I'll be the local gun store could order one for me.
We have the shorty 870s where I work for like $270, so I'll go with that in a few months once I get my discount.

I've handled (never fired) a few of those at work, and never really liked the feel of them. Maybe I should give them another go, as they are very cheap and would likely fit my needs. I don't go shooting too terribly often, and I go shooting clays less often than just target shooting. It's more so for home defense, so this may work. Thanks for your input.

Haven't seen any of these in town before, but if it can be had for $350 then it's an option. What's the big difference between this and a standard 500? I've owned a 500 before and it was a quarter that price.

So if my dad, who has a C&R permit that allows him to legally import C&R weapons from other countries, were to buy one of those, that wouldn't be legal?
[editline]February 20th, 2013[/editline]
Actually, according to Canadian law:
If the firearm is being exported to the United States, individuals only need an export permit if the firearm is prohibited.
After doing some research, I found that there are 3 types of firearm classification in Canada; Prohibited, Restricted, and Non-Restricted.
The SVT-40 is classified as "Non-Restricted", meaning...

Actually, nevermind, I didn't notice the thing that says "We are unable to sell firearms to the USA". SHIT!
how hard would it be to scrounge the supplies to reload 8mm Mauser? I saved my spent casings on the off chance I could. It's remington core-lokt which iirc is boxer primed
the maverick is just a 500 (which the flex is just a 500 with fancy furniture) with slightly different parts (all aftermarket parts except the forearm is compatible, it's the same gun with only the safety and slide rails different

Keep in mind, that price on armslist is for 8lbs and 1 lb of powder and 400 primers.
Several years ago, I heard someone yelling my neighbor's name in the middle of the night. I was about to yell at him to keep quiet when I saw he was one of four people armed with large sledge hammers and fire axes. They went to work demolishing the front of my neighbor's house, and then attempted to break down the door. I called 911, but after 10 minutes of waiting, I took it upon myself. I confronted them with my firearm, and held them at bay with my AR-15 the remaining 5 minutes before police officers finally arrived. Nobody was killed, least of all my neighbor, whom might have been had I not been able to use a force equalizer to go up against a vastly overwhelming opponent.
