Ain't the Pinto the one that explodes if you kick the rear of the car?
What's up with all the cars?

If I bring my pistol, I go for general accuracy, recoil management, quick follow up shots, etc. If I bring my M1A, I'm going for absolute accuracy. If I bring my M1 carbine, I'm just blasting.
Jesus God damn Christ have you never heard of Acetone? :| I even told you to get some 00 steel wool. God fucking dammit. Seriously you see paint on a gun then immediately think "Hmm. COURSE SANDPAPER SHOULD WORK." then proceed to rape the living shit out of it? Come on, man. I'm not even going to mention the spoils of war thing. Ffgsdfsds.
You guys are all talking about how he fucked up the monetary value of it, while i do admit he fucked it up it would have been even shittier if he just sold it. I mean if your grand father brought a pistol back from the war you should keep that shit

We even told him that he shouldn't restore it or take off the finish because that would ruin the value. Now all he has is a 80 year old plinking pistol.
I wouldn't want to sell it, but I also wouldn't want to take sand paper to it. It having some sandpaper scratches and missing the "spoil of war" paint doesn't make it that much less valuable. It's still an all matching, war-time DWM in good condition. I could see the value dropping a good $500 though. I would expect the value to be somewhere around $1000 USD, probably more with a matching magazine and rig; if he hadn't fucked it up, probably over $1500-$2000. Don't encourage him to do more shit to it by saying it's worthless now :v:
The fact that he took the paint off is the largest issue, not so much that he fucked the finish up. Like said before, the paint signifies it was a spoil of war. That alone skyrockets the value, not only money value, but sentimental value as well. Word of advice to EVERYONE. If you don't know what something on a gun is for, DO NOT ALTER IT!
So, some comments about my AR in the last thread put an idea in my head. Kind of silly, but I think it'll be fun to do, so I'm putting my tax return towards it. I'm estimating it will take about a month for it to be completed. Going to hold off spilling the beans until I'm ready to post it.
Well... well... what is it? ... :( It can't be as silly as what I want to do with mine!
I'd avoid buying a war time luger if it had scratches all the way into the metal, but thats just me.
If that were the only issue and it were otherwise an all matching Luger in functioning condition, I'd go for it if the price were right. Those rust spots are pretty bad though. I cringe at the thought of him trying to remove those too. Dude needs to learn that 00 steel wool != 60 grit sand paper.

Now that it's worthless I'll take it off your hands for $100 and save you the trouble and agony.
What do you guys think of kydex holsters?
Now that it's worthless I'll take it off your hands for $100 and save you the trouble and agony.
I raise you $100 and a single burrito
Picked this up a month ago for $1000CDN. Ran the serial number online. Was made in 1922. A grand, NOT a hundred bucks. Also, shoots like a dream.

That's right. Converted to .38SPL. Had to drill slightly into the frame to fit the loading gate and re-blue the metal. Surprisingly accurate, actually. Very fun to shoot!

Why is everything that Tapco makes not only bad but looks terrible Does anyone know where i can find some steel 5.45x39 mags? I fucking love that classic AK mag look.
Guys Guys I think 16bit killed himself, he isn't responding what have we (and /k) done
How do you figure that value? Just curious.
Just estimating based off of what I've seen other pistols in the same condition with matching serial numbers and whatnot go for. Your average, matching, war-time production DWM will cost anywhere from $800 to upwards of $2k for the rarer variants in the best condition. I've seen pistols in the condition his is in now (all matching numbers, 60-70% bluing, mechanically sound and a decent to good bore (he didn't actually say anything about the bore so I'm just assuming here)) go for around $800-$1000 for just the pistol and one magazine. With the rig and a potentially matching magazine and a spare magazine, that should bring it up to around $1200-$1300. More if the rig matches, a little less if the mag doesn't match. I may not be 100% accurate, but it's at least a good starting point. It's all just based off my time spent at gun shows, talking to old dudes with way too many rare and expensive firearms and comparing prices of Lugers and C96's on the internet. It helps to keep up with prices and how to value firearms when you collect them :P

Also, congrats, your pricing indicates you're Canadian, you just called me on my Toxx clause at the beginning of the thread. Photos of my shit will be coming soon. Also, if you're going to display your lever like that in Canuckistan, you need to have it trigger locked/the lever locked shut.
