Uncle just figured out how to take the bolt out of his Sauer 90. he's had it for almost 20 years. I could have done it for him if he asked by looking it up, but he always insisted he would get around to it. I suppose I shouldn't jest, he taught me how to fieldstrip an FN Mag among other things haha.
True, I guess equating sanding a stock down to sanding the metal, especially where the serial number is, is a completely different situation.
Yeah, I use 600 grit sandpaper on my BP stocks to finish em up and that's with a relatively thin layer of sealer and finish, I'd imagine with a coat of cosmoline on a stock it'd be pretty hard to make a mess so long as you don't use a heavy grit. Metal though, I start at 120 and work my way up to 2,000.
Can anyone recommend a good scout scope for a 22 rifle, under $300.00? Cheaper and older the better.
http://swfa.com/Leupold-25x28-FX-II-Scout-Scope-P3261.aspx -$300 (Can probably be had for less) -Less than half a pound -Lifetime Warranty -Leupold VX-2 glass (This is their most popular line of glass. It would be equivalent to what you would call, mid-to-high range glass.)
Well... well... what is it? ... :( It can't be as silly as what I want to do with mine!
Well I will tell you this, step one is complete. Tally so far is... $1469.00 I will keep updating the tally as the project goes along.
it doesn't say anything about dead in committee, it just says the chairman of the committee doesn't support it. pretty much means dead in committee, there's a lot of follow the leader going on in there. remember though, feinstein is on the committee too. The fight isn't over until that old crone drops dead, and even then it won't be over for long
The committee failed to accept the bill onto the year's agenda in a timely manner, which as a full Congressional Committee, is basically dead at committee. And without support of the Party Chairman, (and with obvious reasons, the lack of support from the Ranking member, a Republican) and with the voiced disconnect with the Senate Majority leader; it is unlikely that anything will pass the senate where it has the most probability of passing as a law. Even less-so, in a Republican-held House, where the bill would have to be proposed as a second bill, voted and agreed upon in an identical process, and the two differing versions would have to be condensed and voted upon a third time by another committee to make sure the verbage of the two laws, and the subsequent added amendments the Repubs would most-likely attach to it, match. So in conclusion, it is basically the same thing as dying in committee, if your senior-most chair and your senior-most party chair both reject it. Alas, I don't have enough cash available to do what I want. Purchasing a pre-built piston capable of what I need would be atleast $2k; and probably even more to do it in .308/7.62NATO... :(
so how long till the rest of america knows its dead so we can get normal prices again
so how long till the rest of america knows its dead so we can get normal prices again
My money is on May-ish

If you read my initial post, I didn't actual mention my idea being about my AR. I just mentioned that some comments about my AR gave me an idea. Edit: Still could be my AR though. I'm not ruling anything out yet! [editline]31st January 2013[/editline]
so how long till the rest of america knows its dead so we can get normal prices again
I'm more optimistic, I'm thinking by late March just about everything will be back in stock, and we will see normalized prices in April sometime.
Finally found a camera, here's the RC K98 I bought: [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/1VqOi[/img_thumb] Tried to get a shot of the import mark and I was rewarded with blur. A photographer I am not. Now I just need to find a nice Mosin.
My money is on May-ish
That's probably when the local gun-club/range/bigass gun store will get it's supply back. During the scare, he was cleared down to a bubba'd SKS and a UTS-15. About 200 rounds of 7.62x54 was all the ammo that was left. The UPS guy came in and said "Fuck feinstein man, I hate having to lug this stuff around." He was bringing in rifles and ammo people had ordered :v:

I'm really intrigued now! What is it?! [editline]31st January 2013[/editline]
That's probably when the local gun-club/range/bigass gun store will get it's supply back. Busy as hell and frantically trying to get everything; yes, but damn, think of the money people are willing to buy for stuff right now! Even .22 is going for insane prices at some places. Granted, I think I'll wait for the massive price drops afterwards when factories go into overdrive and have a crap-tonne of excess stock to get rid of.
Going shooting this weekend with the grandpa. He says rifles and pistols. He has a lot of both, so I am curious what he will bring.
Going shooting this weekend with the grandpa. He says rifles and pistols. He has a lot of both, so I am curious what he will bring.
See if he'll bring a punt gun.
I know for sure that he doesn't have any of those :v:

I might have to build me a punt gun. I've gone hunting with a regular old cannon loaded with shot and took loads of fowl with it, I imagine I could be real effective with a punt gun.
yeah i showed him that and he said "its not cnn or whatever so i dont believe it!!!"
See if he'll bring a punt gun.
How the hell do you reload that
yeah i showed him that and he said "its not cnn or whatever so i dont believe it!!!"
He doesn't believe NBC? They aired that video on national fucking television stating that they were wrong in saying that he used an AR-15. When a news agency says they're wrong, I tend to believe them. It's when they're saying they're right about something, that's when it's hard to believe. [editline]31st January 2013[/editline]
http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284&A=4226 He used the AR-15
I don't know what to believe, some sources say there were four handguns confiscated, some sources say two handguns and the AR-15. Frankly I don't see why it matters though. Killing is killing, it doesn't matter what you do it with. People just so desperately want to use this as ammunition to fuel their agenda.
Blame the media. They've said infinite things that are contradictory about the story and the events. [editline]31st January 2013[/editline] If anything. Makes me feel a bit more confident in the power of the 5.56 round and the massive use the military has for it. [sp]I have a sick sense of humor[/sp]
If anything. Makes me feel a bit more confident in the power of the 5.56 round and the massive use the military has for it. [sp]I have a sick sense of humor[/sp]
Yeah this whole ordeal has done wonders at proving the effectiveness of 5.56 against unarmed school children. I feel much safer now. [sp]What the fuck, dude?[/sp]
http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284&A=4226 He used the AR-15
That source mentions a "canta-12" so I'm going to go ahead and say it isn't very reliable
yeah thats the thing, theres no one saying the same thing twice
yeah thats the thing, theres no one saying the same thing twice
Is the kid trying to argue that an Ar is more deadly? If he is remind him buckshot is still a thing.
Is the kid trying to argue that an Ar is more deadly? If he is remind him buckshot is still a thing.
Wax slugs are still king. [m]www.youtube.com/watch?v=InbyFtvHilM[/m] I dunno what the hell's up with media tags.
no he's not but i all ready dropped out of it, way too annoying
Facebook is probably the last place where you should try to have a civilized and informative debate about something.
