Uncle just figured out how to take the bolt out of his Sauer 90. he's had it for almost 20 years. I could have done it for him if he asked by looking it up, but he always insisted he would get around to it. I suppose I shouldn't jest, he taught me how to fieldstrip an FN Mag among other things haha.

Yeah, I use 600 grit sandpaper on my BP stocks to finish em up and that's with a relatively thin layer of sealer and finish, I'd imagine with a coat of cosmoline on a stock it'd be pretty hard to make a mess so long as you don't use a heavy grit.
Metal though, I start at 120 and work my way up to 2,000.

The committee failed to accept the bill onto the year's agenda in a timely manner, which as a full Congressional Committee, is basically dead at committee.
And without support of the Party Chairman, (and with obvious reasons, the lack of support from the Ranking member, a Republican) and with the voiced disconnect with the Senate Majority leader; it is unlikely that anything will pass the senate where it has the most probability of passing as a law. Even less-so, in a Republican-held House, where the bill would have to be proposed as a second bill, voted and agreed upon in an identical process, and the two differing versions would have to be condensed and voted upon a third time by another committee to make sure the verbage of the two laws, and the subsequent added amendments the Repubs would most-likely attach to it, match.
So in conclusion, it is basically the same thing as dying in committee, if your senior-most chair and your senior-most party chair both reject it.

For $1.5k, I hope you atleast bought a decent lower to start off with! Alas, I don't have enough cash available to do what I want. Purchasing a pre-built piston capable of what I need would be atleast $2k; and probably even more to do it in .308/7.62NATO... :(

Food for thought. If you read my initial post, I didn't actual mention my idea being about my AR. I just mentioned that some comments about my AR gave me an idea. :wink:

I'm more optimistic, I'm thinking by late March just about everything will be back in stock, and we will see normalized prices in April sometime.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to have been a gun-store owner during this time, though. Busy as hell and frantically trying to get everything; yes, but damn, think of the money people are willing to buy for stuff right now! Even .22 is going for insane prices at some places.
Granted, I think I'll wait for the massive price drops afterwards when factories go into overdrive and have a crap-tonne of excess stock to get rid of.

I don't know what to believe, some sources say there were four handguns confiscated, some sources say two handguns and the AR-15.
