What about all that mystery concerning 'Nazi Zombies' from CoD WaW ? Anyone have anything on that? ( I'm talking about all the germans in a secret lab in Germany through WW2, trying to create weapons and stuff to make the Nazis superior and whatnot? )

Well, Polybius is an interesting story. A game that appeared in arcades in Portland, Oregon, around 1981. It would cause strange symptoms in players, including amnesia, insomnia, nightmares, night terrors, and even suicide. Men in Black, or government figures, started appearing in arcades featuring the game. The games slowly started to disappear, and none have been found since 1983. Another, I find questionable. A strange member on the Unexplained-Mysteries.com forums posted this. At the end of the Halo 1 bonus cinematic, a URL was shown. The website, appearing on Screensavers, was filled with overlapping text and pictures, strange code, and a phone number. The number was called, and an answering machine said "Sorry, I guess they got me, I wont be back for a long time."
I finally manned up to watch that exorcism video worst decision of my life

I remember there being a study a few years back where somebody made a game that was able to make some players pass out. It's like hypnosis, though; it only works on some people.

Looks like its time to bust out my radio and walk around my neighborhood....
Well, my time lurking Something Awful gave me a story or two. My memory isn't what it was, but oh well. First of all, a ghost story. I dunno. I remember seeing a thread about strange audio recordings, and saw something about an asylum or something. A boy was saying something like "I can't breathe." an adult voice says "I couldn't breathe" again, he says "I can't breathe." Another adult says "I couldn't breathe." It goes on like this. But guess what: The room was empty.
I feel bad for them, stuck here. :frown:
Hey guys, anybody heard of the Bunny Man?
Oh, I have some stories from when I went there a few times.
One from my area, known a couple people who have had it happen to 'em. Known as the Australian Min Min lights. It has been confirmed as a Natural Phenomenon but there is still a debate on that, and the actual reason for their existence is all based on theories.
Min Min Light is the name given to an unusual light formation that has been reported numerous times in eastern Australia. The lights have been reported from as far south as Brewarrina in western New South Wales, to as far north as Boulia in northern Queensland. The majority of sightings are reported to have occurred in Channel Country. Stories about the lights can be found in aboriginal myth pre-dating western settlement of the region and have since become part of wider Australian folklore. Indigenous Australians hold that the number of sightings has increased alongside the increasing ingression of Europeans into the region. According to folklore, the lights sometime follow or approached people and have disappeared when fired upon, only to reappear later on. The light's existence as a phenomenon has been confirmed, though there remains debate over their source. Various explanations have been put forward, ranging from optical illusions and piezoelectrics to luminescent animals.
I've heard some stories about the lights appearing for people driving out west, even some driving up Cairns way. One guy had one follow his car for about an hour, when he stopped it'd stop, etc. Although many would put it down as the Fata Morgana effect, some of the ways it appears and the fact it was noted long before the British colonisation by Aboriginal Folklore lead many to still speculate exactly how it appears.
Accounts of the light appearances vary, though they are most commonly described as being fuzzy disc shaped lights that appear to hover just above the horizon. They are often described as being white, though some accounts describe them as changing colour from white to red to green and back again. Some accounts describe them as being dim, others describe them as being bright enough to illuminate the ground under them and to cause nearby objects to throw clearly defined shadows. Some witnesses describe the light as appearing to approach them several times before retreating. Others report that the lights were able to keep pace with them when they were in a moving motor vehicle.
Min Min Light: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Min_Min_light (Read on through some of the External Links) Fata Morgana: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fata_Morgana_(mirage)
I like this thread, mysteries are cool. When I was young I liked to go out with a walkie talkie and try to get some signals through it. I remember hearing two russians (or any language that sounds like it) speaking to each others. T'was cool.
I pm'ed you it, but here it is for everyone. Really, don't read it as it really ruins the story. It's good to read it if you finish the story though. I'm warning you, it really kills it. [sp]http://theunshaven.rooms.cwal.net/Hyperfiction/Ted's%20Caving%20Page%20-%20Analysis.htm[/sp]
I read all the 10 pages. What happened after that? Did he got in the cave with joe again? It doesnt go further than page 10 for me.
Why does Wikipedia never have anything in Layman's terms? Also, this is basically the string theory of paranormal activity.
There's not really anything TO put into Layman's terms. It claims it's a detailed description, but, because it's not a real phenomenon there's not much to describe except for the alleged effects it had. It's just some bullshit, pseudoscience that some crackpots somewhere with no real respect of science, understanding or knowledge came up with.
Even though they aren't really paranormal the sound of them is still pretty creepy, not enough to keep me awake at night though.
I find them interesting. Not creepy. I want to solve them, but it's essentially impossible (unless you have the one number pad that relates to the series of numbers meant for you).

No link to prove, but the legend may live!
Polybius, if you believe this website, was a video game developed by the CIA (or some other shadowy government organization) back in the early days of video games, 1981. But the game was really a secret experiment in behavior modification. Only a few of the game machines ever saw the light of day. They appeared in a few arcades in a suburb of Portland. Kids who played the game reportedly suffered disturbing side effects. They "woke up at night screaming, having horrible nightmares." Some later developed amnesia. Occasionally black-coat types would come to collect 'records' from the games. So did Polybius really exist, or is it all a hoax? Here is a rare photograph of one of the Polybius machines (or perhaps it's just a modern photoshop). Even if it is just a hoax (which, yeah, it probably is) it still makes a pretty good story. (Thanks, Rob).
How can you say it was proven as a hoax if you didn't give us any proof?
How can you say it was proven as a hoax if you didn't give us any proof?
How can you say it's true if you don't give us any proof?
How can you say it's true if you don't give us any proof?
He can't and he doesn't. It's an unsolved mystery for a reason.
The Paulding Light I have actually been to the place to see this. Its pretty crazy. The Paulding Light (also called the Lights of Paulding or the Dog Meadow Light) is a Ghost Light that appears outside of Paulding, Michigan near Watersmeet off Highway 45 on Robins Pond Rd. Reports of the light have appeared since the lumber days in Michigan's upper peninsula, with accompanying explanations such as geologic activity, swamp gas, and refracted car lights. The light is also the subject of popular folklore connected with hauntings and UFO sightings
