Hey guys, I'm uploading a copy of a CD I got from a 3d modeling magazine, I figured you guys would get some use out of it. The upload should be done sometime in the morning. It has: -Two tutorials -A 43 minute video tutorial on how to make a realistic human eye in maya -A 25 minute texturing tutorial aimed at people newer to texturing. -A collection of restaurant models -4 high detail chair models. -15 Super high res seaside textures I might subscribe to the magazine so if I do, ill be sure to post more cd uploads. I might scan some of the tutorial inside too, it was pretty inspiring.
This would be awesome. I'm trying to learn Maya right now and I haven't had any luck finding any good tutorials.

Hm... So, you guys seen Source Filmmaker? I know it doesn't compare to the tools we have here, but it's fun and easy to use. I've been messing around with it lately, and I wanted to know what you guys thought about it.
what i think: source filmmaker doesnt compare to 3d tools used in this thread at all, they serve different purposes
Here you guys go, sorry its in 3 parts, mediafire only lets you upload 200 mb at a time. Just download all the files before opening them. Anybody know any better hosts? Part 1: http://www.mediafire.com/?npnmc3hpk7l7uje Part 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?0y1oijcg5c506df Part 3:http://www.mediafire.com/?392dudacy29lkbz
I've not got into the SFM beta, but I use our 3D tools as a means to make films... and I'm really fucking excited about what I could do with SFM. I think saying they're not comparable is silly. SFM can't model or texture, but it can animate, light and render with surprising flexibility. I can't fucking wait to import custom models and rigs, their animation and rendering tools are far more user friendly than any 3D package I've ever used. Not to mention the optimisation in the rendering, DoF and motion blur cripples renders in any 3D package. From a directorial standpoint, I think it's an incredible tool. And knowing the Source community, it'll be modded and hacked to shit to make it even more flexible.

I'm already using SFM to make a cool TF2 animation. :3
Here's some more, just making up stuff as I go along lol
Does anyone have any tutorials that show how to properly begin to model, I have basic understanding of maya, lots of ideas, but I don't have the technical know-how required in order to actually make it. I also have on from a Bioware dev but I don't think I have the project files for it.
