What's the deal with the sheet metal nailed to the fridge?
Fridge magnets & post-its?
Fridge magnets & post-its?
This.
When I get this baked the paper will be a flat poly, so the thickness doesn't really matter it's just there for sexy edges.
Fridge magnets & post-its?
I know what it's supposed to be, but it's far too thick to be paper.
Which Cocknuggest has said doesn't matter.
Bored so tried out goggles sketchup for the first time:

For Sketchup, that's not bad.

I thought it was a backwards rocket launcher for a minute :v:
I thought it was a backwards rocket launcher for a minute :v:
hah yer it does, The barrel should have cooling holes like old machine guns, but sketchup is stupid and doesn't let you cut/extrude into curved surfaces; which would have helped remove the rocket-launcher look from it.

outline are now shaded like the real sprites, takes longer to do this but I love the look.
Share us your secrets.
Dog-gy... I sort of missed it when you started showing off these incredible images, but how the hell do you do it?
I probably shouldn't post on his behalf, but he did make a post with a tutorial earlier.

p simple, i didnt cover lighting because thats unnecessary and would change drastically depending on what mood etc u want
since then i've figured out some weird stuff about the functionality of the ink thickness settings at these resolutions. and i've changed how i render to a 3 pass process for the shaded outlines. i can write up some stuff later if people are interested but i'm out the door in a few minutes.
[editline]5th September 2012[/editline]
also im doing a gen1 starter soon so which one should i make first? pm me/ask on tumblr (you dont need to sign in!!!) if u dont want to clog the thread or just clog the thread because who cares lol

I'd be interested in it. It would be useful for helping me make sprites for a Super Mario World romhack since I'm a terrible 2d artist.

Also you should start with Squirtle for the hell of it.
I was curious about how would my Super Meat Boy model look like using that render setup doggy posted.

Continuing on with this robot project after a bit of discouragement thanks to Mann Vs. Machine. Bits in white are obviously untouched.
[SUB]I have no idea what I'm doing.[/SUB]
I didn't really do something useful in the last weeks.
Just playing around with the new cell fracture addon and some fluid particles.

Baked a new simulation, frame 455/800 after 4 hours. Just noticed I forgot to add collision to the floor. :v:
455 is the frame where the glass breaks. Quick render test.

Holy shadow bias batman.
Good job though.

I got a render handicap
My early '70s Monaro is coming along:

I hate having to work from reference images instead of measurements, I keep having to change things.
That ain't no campervan.
Waahh :( Ive just got the demo for the latest rayfire and decided I'd dry out the new Wood Fragmentation. It worked at like a depth of 2, so I got 3 huge chunks (ProBoolean Wood Splinters) but at the default of 30 or whatever this happened:

That just from one frame to the next, about a second or 2 later things go back to normal instead of Spazzy.
What can I do to fix this?
[editline]6th September 2012[/editline]
Simulations usually work fine but there's usually a few fragments that go bonkers and sometime all of them like the example above.

the sticky notes/magnets still look like sheet metal nailed to the fridge

Just have to fix up the pelvic area and give it a head.
If anyone's got any suggestions on what I could do for a head I'd love to hear 'em, I'm totally stumped.

If you finish that, I'd love to use it. Don't know if you're already making it for something but it's some motivation to keep working on it atleast.

The head could go any number of ways honestly! I love this though!

Aaaaand it's done! Image is a link to the model's page on my deviantArt.
While the design is pretty much finalized, any suggestions on how to improve it are welcome and appreciated.
[SUB]Only seven more to go![/SUB] :suicide:
Much, much bigger head.
Legs too long
Limbs too thin
Maybe it's supposed to be like that.
Looks nice btw.
