Much, much bigger head.

It's long and slender because it's got to be fast and light on its feet, hence the name Runner Robot. The other models of bot are going to be bulkier though, don't worry.

Sup, i made some particles.
repost:
Waahh :( Ive just got the demo for the latest rayfire and decided I'd dry out the new Wood Fragmentation. It worked at like a depth of 2, so I got 3 huge chunks (ProBoolean Wood Splinters) but at the default of 30 or whatever this happened:

That just from one frame to the next, about a second or 2 later things go back to normal instead of Spazzy.
What can I do to fix this?
[editline]6th September 2012[/editline]
Simulations usually work fine but there's usually a few fragments that go bonkers and sometime all of them like the example above.

It's not about the tool, it's about the artist.
No, really, Sketchup has some pretty powerful tools but you really need to know how to use them and how to clean up the geometry once you export it to another program.
You ever read older posts?
That's why I said "still", yes I read the older posts, if that's the finished product then they still look like sheet metal.

Well, you clearly can't read very well.

How is it? aside from the vast amounts of wasted space (it's soon to be in a video that zooms up to it).
[editline]7th September 2012[/editline]
Also if you look closely you'll see the thin atmosphere.
Also it's from a slight top-point view, that's why the Valles Marineris (the big rift) is so far to the south.

Hot damn that looks nice. How far in is it going to zoom? All the way to the surface, or is it not detailed enough for that kind of closeup?
Reposting a few things to lead up to a video tomorrow or maybe the day after

This is a WIP, I know that it has huge shading errors, but I'm planning to fix that, I made the surface a bit shinier to make it have that 'planetary render' kind of look.
I haven't done a composite it yet either.

When you look down and realize you are standing on one does that bother you?
Or what about when you see the moon in the sky..
Anyways there's nothing to be afraid of, you have to face your fears, especially irrational ones like that.

From our point of view, if you don't think about it at all, you're standing on an ever lasting stretch of a bumpy flat plain, and the moon is just a big dot in the sky.
thanks a lot. and please don't rate me dumb, it really bothers me.

Amazing render
How can I achieve that, well, I'm using blender, I have no idea how to even use any other program, plus, my computer can't handle any autodesk product very well.

Use falloff/fresnal map as opacity for the atomsphere ball, and then some photoshop to add camera style effects.

So what exactly is it that bothers you about planet images? I am curious to hear more.
photoshop
That wouldn't work for 500+ frames.
That wouldn't work for 500+ frames.
After Effects, or record a photoshop action.
i don't wanna spam this thread but the imponence and inconceivable size of a planet scares me. specially gas giants. i mean, take everything you imagine as big, a football field, an apartment complex, well it's got whole continents in it and that's incomprehensible. and to imagine that 12 earths could fit on that jupiter spot is even scarier and i don't know. it's just the massiveness that blows me away and i really freeze when i see a huge res planet pic. good thing's that i'm never gonna face a planet in my lifetime so hooray!
Fixed the shading problem, but windows movie maker wont work for shit (don't blame me, I like simplicity) and I have no idea what you mean 'record a photoshop action'.
[t]http://niggaupload.com/images/ZvIs.png[/t]
well then research photoshop actions.
i would recommend after effects though if at all possible because it's basically photoshop for videos

It's hard to explain. You can basically edit the picture and it will turn all the things you do into a script so you can apply to each frame in a batch or something like that.
everyone post more planets
ok
