Two bots down, six to go! Also, have a comparison shot:

Do you guys think the builds are different enough to be easily distinguishable?
Do you guys think the builds are different enough to be easily distinguishable?
Their silhouettes are very similar, so I would have to say no.
Seeing as these are different classes they should look entirely different. Currently they are so similar that they would be nearly indistinguishable under typical circumstances
i don't wanna spam this thread but the imponence and inconceivable size of a planet scares me. specially gas giants. i mean, take everything you imagine as big, a football field, an apartment complex, well it's got whole continents in it and that's incomprehensible. and to imagine that 12 earths could fit on that jupiter spot is even scarier and i don't know. it's just the massiveness that blows me away and i really freeze when i see a huge res planet pic. good thing's that i'm never gonna face a planet in my lifetime so hooray!
Look down, and now look up, while you're outside of course in day light, and now remember that about 4-14 miles down, you're living on a planet that's hot and basically living, with constant flows underneath you, like as if it's blood, and you're living on it's skin, and that's how it feels to be a bactirium, and, you've got astrophobia or something, sorry for being a douche.
Hey, buddy, you might want to look into therapy, work on fixing your fears of planets. That, or you can go back to Middle Ages Europe, and believe that the world is a flat disk suspended on... God? Atlas? Turtles? What was holding it up back then?
the world on the back of the turtle myth is my favorite mythological story turtles own
It's turtles all the way down, you know.
[t]http://niggaupload.com/images/y2Waj.png[/t] Added an atmospheric haze, and added an animation, the video is coming soon, once I get to know some video and frame things within blender or photoshop.
Made some new shoes for the Rolla :3 The new intern company I'm working now uses shapes and bevel and embos stuff a lot, So I used the wheel to practise with these things. Came out pretty good I think
Added an atmospheric haze, and added an animation, the video is coming soon, once I get to know some video and frame things within blender or photoshop.
Holy shit, I think it will look nice, and I don't mind that It will now have 1000 frames.
-snip for weird phobias- Added an atmospheric haze, and added an animation, the video is coming soon, once I get to know some video and frame things within blender or photoshop.
Little late, but perhaps what you want to do can be done with the internal Blender Compositor. BlenderGuru did a "Realistic Earth" video, perhaps it will be relevant to your interests. http://www.blenderguru.com/videos/create-a-realistic-earth The Blender Compositor has very powerful functions, and likely will be able to take Photoshop/After Effects out of the equation.
Actually I had that tab open for a while, and I'm already near the end of the video, I like how this person is recognized for his skill
His Blender Nature series is fantastic, specially when you realize all the renders are done with just the Internal Render and the Compositor.
Still needs work
Changed the wheels a bit, long live alpha maps!
A bit of a noob question, but I am sure whoever helps me will help me a lot more in the long run. I have modeled half of a swords blade, but I am not sure how I should go around the other half. I tried using the symmetry modifier and welding it, but I got this black patch on it. Is it because there is one side? If so, how should I go around giving it more than one side? Should I just start the whole blade model again? Any help would be appreciated. I am kind of a noob, so please be easy on me.
Does your entire model only share one smoothing group? That may cause that blending error. Also, press 'j' to get rid of that bounding box thing around your selection. It helps make things clearer.
I hate to sound even stupider, but what the hell is a smoothing group?
A smoothing group is a collection of faces that smooth their normals (the angle which they are facing) so that any light is blended across these faces. For two polygons that share one edge, this works as long as this angle isn't too sharp. Your blade edge may share their smoothing group with the polygons making up the edge on the opposite side. This creates that dark streak because the renderer attempts to smooth the light across this really sharp edge that makes up the cutting edge of the blade. Select all of your polygons, scroll down in your Editable Poly modifier and find the smoothing groups box. Click the numbers so none are set to active, and see if that fixes your visual error.
I hate to sound even stupider, but what the hell is a smoothing group?
This is one smooth group, and then there is one flat edge. This is all flat faces, no smooth group. This is all smooth, it's all one smooth group. Mind that the shading gets weird when there is a jagged edge like on my Example Box. [editline]9th September 2012[/editline] Sorry for my bad computer hand writing, I'm not very good writing with a mouse. [editline]9th September 2012[/editline] And also niggaupload wont load so I had to use imgur.
Well, this is my 1000th frame, also, my internet suck absolute balls right now and I can't download after effect for now, but here you go: [t]http://niggaupload.com/images/qcieM.png[/t]
Redid my industrial building; added a few texture improvements and the breakdowns:
Still needs work
The end is pretty sweet but as I and several others already stated some time ago it would have been smarter to just divide the textures because the beginning is way too blurry regardless of your enormous textures.
Well here's the video. After some large and unnecessary amounts of hassle, I finally compiled all 1000 of my frames to make a video that doesn't even fill the whole screen, but still, what does that matter? (Holy shit I remind myself of GLaDOS) [editline]9th September 2012[/editline] Also the stars seem to be exploding in the background.

Does anyone know how to make auto IK in Blender have a straight transition rather than a smooth one? It makes turn table animations look like crap. [editline].[/editline] Nevermind, got it. [editline]9th September 2012[/editline]
