I think it needs to be shinier and have the sides kinda chrome. The model is good though.

Also, you shouldn't have it that black. There is no detail in the edges.. :-/

But the iPhone is actually that black

I know, but it's kinda an unwritten rule in 3D not to have pitch black when doing black. Always have some gray in there so that the contrast in the black doesn't turn whatever into a solid black mass.
In some cases as the iPhone, he would need gloss and reflection, and this would most likely solve the "problem" and look fantastic.
Started my new course last week, I've learnt so much about Maya despite the fact I've been using it for four years. Also, I think you guys will enjoy this gem, which is imprinted on one of the walls:

I actually didn't use pitch black, but a reaaaaallllyyy dark grey. I also added some reflection, but I'm starting to wonder if the lack of segments ruins it? Anyone know if more segments = better reflection? Oh, and about the details in the edges, it's because I forgot to chamfer them. Thanks for the constructive criticism btw.

More segments doesn't make the reflection better, but you should have some environment to show that there is something to reflect :)
And yes, I can see that you've used a very dark gray tone on the screen I'm at right now.

Well, at the moment it's just a light grey material. Anyone know how to make a good looking material for this part of the iPhone? I tried a stretched noise map for a sort of brushed look, but it didn't end up so good.

Thank you for making that clear to me. I might try to render it with a VraySun lighting and VraySky as an environment sometime. :)

Just apply noise for bump, and adjust the glossiness and specularity on the light gray material.
Dunno if you have everything in scale, if so somewhere between 0.0015 - 0.0025 in noise value should look okay I think
No need for any reflection as that part of the phone don't reflect anything.
In the black material, under reflection, use raytracing, and adjust the glossiness and specularity on this material as well.

May want to add some horizon-haze to blend the planet and sky a bit more, since the camera is so low on the surface.

You're talking about "mist"?
More like, atmosphere.
I really like Blender's SPH Fluid Particles.

Now get it to ZBrush or Mudbox, and get some wrinkles/imperfections in there. Looks like a great basemesh.
