This is literally the third thing I've made in max.

Quick question, this isn't real-time recorded right?
This is a pre-rendered teaser?
If not, I wanna know dem specs!
Fffffffffffff.... I think I need to upgrade soon... Can't run 3D Mark 11 with more then 20 fps at enthusiast settings. :<
give one example of CA being used well and i'll agree with it being used well in those cases
the fact is there is almost nothing to show for it, even if you can find a couple exceptions, it still almost always looks like utter shit.
Ben_lind posted a link for good use of CA. But here's another:

Yes of course, with the extreme preset at 2560x1440 resolution the framerate is something like 5 with a gtx 580.

Also, does the stones in the background look familiar?

that's so subtle i can only really tell at a couple points, plus combined with youtube compression makes it not stand out so much.
this is a good example of how to use something with extreme subtlety and being conscious of how to use it in a way that doesn't have a huge impact on the image, but gives it a slight, almost subconscious sense of light being passed through a lens. nobody in this thread has achieved such a thing.

Subtlety was sort of the point dude.
do you not get the point im making
is your point that the only time CA looks good is when you can't see it?
Just been tinkering around lately, not made anything serious, this was just to pass some time and get a grasp of a hendricks axle assembly and some other details.
(I'm aware the tyres look like balls. :P)
