What is the purpose of that model?
Making me look cool, that's all

So it's only a portfolio thing?
Seems like it'd fit into mobile games pretty well.

Ooooh!! Ehrmagherd! Your so cool that I want to touch you! :D
Can I? I wanna see if I get low-poly skills! I simply can't handle myself anymore!!

How do you achieve the effect on the wood? I was attempting to create wood last night and I had no idea how to :v:

the wood looks a bit too shabby for such a fine axe/hammer

Idunno. :v:
I just use the rake brush with low intensity and smooth it here and there, maybe that helps.

Here, have some christmas i made a few days ago:

Now I feel like modelling a proper Christmas tree.
Gonna do that too, then put all the other ornaments i made on it.
I come to this thread almost every day to see the amazing stuff you all come up with.
It's very inspiring ...and yet at the same time makes me wish I got more into 3D modeling.
You guys rock! Keep up the great work :)

That's awesome. Good on you!
For all the times I have used Max and Maya (for animation and matching moving purposes mostly) it has been extremely fun.
I really should try and find time to learn and explore the software a little more... then hopefully 'model' something more than a teapot :v:
This is very.... Bad of me, but since I haven't done any Christmas related stuff this year..

Here's the pic I did last year :P
There's still 13 days until Christmas, so I might do something, or I wont have the time for it :-/

bullshit im playin around wit
Could anybody point me to a video tutorial about creating assets for UDK, importing them, and stuff? I know google yields a ton of results but I was just curious if there was a really good video series or something out there

Looks awesome!
What's the scene gonna turn into?
Also, UDK I presume?
So Im working on my reel to try and jazz it up a little and apply for a load more jobs. Could you guys give me some feedback? Im more interested in if there's anything you reckon isn't worth putting in there. I've been staring at this work way too long and can't really see it any more. The first half is all 2D compositing work so I'm not sure how relevant it is here, but a general digital artist eye could probably still provide some good feedback. Cheers!
Forgot about vimeo's autoplay... I'll just link it here http://vimeo.com/42612680
Just finished the inside of John's mouth :)

Why are you going for so high poly.

Also just realized that the thread that holds it up doesn't touch it, meh whatever
Why are you going for so high poly.
It's actually quite lowpoly, but it's subdivided for meshsmoothing.
Me and a friend is gonna recreate a scene from the Disney classic in 3D, so I'm gonna use hair and fur on him, as well as cloth simulation on his clothes.
I can post wire when I get home :)
Still unsure if I'm gonna use the bumpmap on his tounge as it kinda pulls away from the cartoon look :/
