Looks good, though I don't see the point of the scratches on the top part itself.
Looks good, though I don't see the point of the scratches on the top part itself.
Agreed - in current society it wouldn't get scratched unless the person putting it up was shit at putting up lamp posts And either you have some big lens distortion happening or the design needs a slight rework: at the moment it looks as though it's starting to fall over backwards [editline]9th March 2012[/editline] And unless it's there for a reason you don't really need that big chunk of metal surface between the tip of the actual lighty-up lamp bit (the edge closest us and furthest from the pole) and the vertical bit of the casing. Looks weird
Agreed - in current society it wouldn't get scratched unless the person putting it up was shit at putting up lamp posts
alrighty, removed
And either you have some big lens distortion happening or the design needs a slight rework: at the moment it looks as though it's starting to fall over backwards
it's probably a lens distortion, the lampy bit is perpendicular to the pole (which is straight)
And unless it's there for a reason you don't really need that big chunk of metal surface between the tip of the actual lighty-up lamp bit (the edge closest us and furthest from the pole) and the vertical bit of the casing. Looks weird
sorry, I don't understand which part you're talking about?
I guess it would be the 'nose' of the lamp
still not getting it [editline]9th March 2012[/editline] do you mean the part that connects the lamp to the pole?
Damn, I hate plane modelling :v: I'm terrible at finding blueprints
Blueprints? Just get a picture of a bone and have a go at it. You don't even need to set it in the background unless you want scientific accuracy.
I think he means this part:
Better and improved, but still WIP Compared with the old:
Was bored today, started browsing Facepunch after, like, 2 years or so and discovered this thread. Was Inspired to use Cycles and made this out of boredom: [thumb]http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq270/Fan-Fanatic/3D/Hammers1.png[/thumb]
AFAIK making a rig a different scale or form in Max requires you to setup the IK chains and constraints again. Unless it's scripted to generate a new rig based on modifications. That's why rigging in Max is a pain.
Yeah, that's kinda what I was dreading. Now I've worked my way backwards, undoing the many constraints, and unlinked the body parts. Think I'll be able to avoid setting up the finger and foot controls to the next character.
Better and improved, but still WIP
Waist area and shoulders are broken.
Waist area and shoulders are broken.
Bad skinning :)
I exported a UV map, painted over it and shit, bring it back in to the object as a new material and it's all skew-iff. Why?
working on a really low-poly futuristic styled SMG... Any C&C /Improvements ? [thumb]http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq270/Fan-Fanatic/3D/rifle1-1.png[/thumb]

Question: Car doors, a poly for each? or one big one?
Maybe its just me or, that mans face just looks so out of place when he runs
Not sure what you mean? Please explain further?
I think he means this part:
oh alrighty, also removed

He's leaning quite a lot too.
a small wip
His hip stays in the same place when it should go up and down according to the motion. He's leaning quite a lot too.
Actually the hips sway up and down, though not as much, considering the speed of the motion.
Update on wheel, still lots of stuff to add on the sides (text, logos)

What's the polycount on that tire and rim?
What's the polycount on that tire and rim?
~3 million combined during render time, most of them coming from the tire (the little details are really eat away at my memory)
~3 million combined during render time, most of them coming from the tire (the little details are really eat away at my memory)
Reminds me of the 2nd year course student that managed to make one tyre around 15 thousand polys on a project they had. They had around the same amount for the entire car :v:
What exactly is a tyre? I keep hearing that word, but I have no idea what it means.
What exactly is a tyre? I keep hearing that word, but I have no idea what it means.
Its Brit for Tire
