For some reason I always assumed you were gay. Nipple piercings and all.
.... Wat?.... I can assure you that I'm not gay :)
little off topic are we now?
stop using text emotes they're dumb
stop using text emotes they're dumb
IMO Emotes makes a huge difference in how the outcome of a persons sentence is interpreted by the receiver.
no
Emotes makes a huge difference in how the outcome of a persons sentence is interpreted by the receiver. Example: "You're a dick" = without any emoticon you won't know if the person is serious about his sentence.. Therefor you'll automatically interpret it as offensive. "You're a dick :P" = Automatically becomes tad funny, and accepted as not serious.
Don't you ever learn? You're gonna alienate yourself from this forum too if you continue.
Just finished making rings for Prince John:
its not so much a problem about emotes as it is that you are making outright bad/dumb posts or awkward posts as of late which is kinda confusing me because you don't normally do that [editline]14th December 2012[/editline] i mean im not being personal here its just that while its cool to go off topic and joke around nobody wants to read an awkward post about nip piercing or wanking i know the wank thing was a joke but it didnt read as funny it read as awkward as a ryu-gi post
I think this is what they call "oversharing."
its what i call weird as hell

I've removed what some of you might find weird. (Though I'm already quoted, so it doesn't really matter.) I only hoped that the post would be accepted as funny and not weird, but I guess it was a miss.
oh domino. you will always be considered weird, and not funny.
While I don't respect the juvenile attitude shown by a lot of the frequenters in these threads, I've come to expect the occasional TMI-joke being made. I don't find it funny, nor relevant or appropriate. But I'm boring, and I accept that most don't share my views on this. What I don't accept, is the personal attacks being aimed towards members who've done absolutely nothing out of the usual, including the juvenile humor shown on this page. I've seen page after page with shiny 3D dicks in these threads, and therefore I can't stand hypocritical behavior. The natural evolution of this thread series has weeded out bad people and kept the interesting ones. It's a shame to see some still live in the mind of a 14 year old brat seeing something he/she don't like. I've said it before, and will be hated for it once again, but please, please grow up!
i dont think you're getting it nobody is having a 14 y/o brat attitude and no personal attacks are being made there's is a huge difference between 3d dick posts and the post that domino made, it's not even comparable.

If anyone took it serious I apologize and can gladly inform that I've never done such a thing, just me trying to be a little witty, and because when I first wrote "I would totally ride the shit out of it", it came out kind of wrong, but I tried to hard to make it funnier.
i'm not holding it against you or anything, no need to apologize. it's not a personal thing it just didn't read as a joke at all. shit happens anyways lets post art. here's a shader i made in udk to map a black to white gradient from the bottom to top of a model's bounding box based on the z axis, no matter where it is in the world. simple stuff but i worked it out on my own since i couldnt find any info on it being done i figure i can do some cool things deriving what i learned from the experience

Just make it fade like Z-depth does.
That's super neat. Is it based on only the model's z-axis? What happens if you rotate it?
The shader looks like it could've been used to render real-time DOF. Just make it fade like Z-depth does.
I've thought about trying that out for fun for a while. Might give it a go later today.
I made a model for shapeways as a test for structural ability and this is how it turned out. It was made in blender. Turns out the walls need to be ticker as by the left door it has broken a bit during printing. From this test I can make far more better textured and less likely to break models. This also gave me a good idea for price and size of the material coloured sandstone. (sorry for picture and video quality)
That's super neat. Is it based on only the model's z-axis?
What was the cost of that? Looks pretty big.
£21.77 / $35.13 (without shipping) So kind of costly I suppose. Or well I don't know if that is good for shapeways or not but expensive either way. It is made out of coloured sandstone and that is the cheapest material they do. how sturdy is the sandstone? does it seem at risk for chipping/breaking/general wear and tear?
how sturdy is the sandstone? does it seem at risk for chipping/breaking/general wear and tear?
Everything could do with being a little thicker but this is not at risk of chipping really. Even the gate walls can be handled without fear of breaking. To be honest it is very sturdy far more than I was expecting. Chipping - not easily breakable - could be dropped without fear of breaking but you would not want to stand on it or try to crush it. General wear and tear - Would not be at risk of getting damaged from general wear and tear. 8/10 would recommend using sandstone. It is stronger than you think but when being printed it has the consistency of wet sand so you have to take that into count when designing.

I've been wary of trying sandstone but I might try it for somethin I wanna print!

Is it possible to apply a volume material to a polygonal object? I use maya 2013 + mental ray.
Haven't done one of these in a while. God I love fractals. Took 6 hours 22 minutes to netrender across two i7 computers.
