It's a 3D print of our fire monster featured in the new dx11 demo scene. And below you can see a 3D rendering I made using the same mesh that was used to print it.
A shame the print got a bit blobby. Still cool though, where did you get it from?
http://www.shapeways.com The mesh itself is actually that blobby, we already made a new sharper version and we're going to order one for everyone who wants + one giant size that will stay in the office.
Can't wait for accurate and affordable home 3D printers. I don't think I would do anything but printing the first month I have it.

Expect to pay as much as the printer for the cartridges though :v:

I would probably just make a bunch of older Bionicle pieces to replace the ones I lost to puppies chewing them up. :v:

Anywho, shapeways should have printers accurate enough to get some pretty tiny detail.
Where was that tutorial on pixelated lighting someone in this thread had done? I thought it was DOG-GY, but it's not showing up in a search of his posts. :(
I decided to open up Maya for the first time in a while and make a model. So I made a SPAS-12. Ironically, before I never had the ability to add a texture (or rather, I didn't know how). I just randomly added one and BOOM I within minutes figured out the UV editor. I feel like a goddamn genius right now. [t]http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/12/35222291594-orig.png[/t]
Can anyone point me to some good tutorials, or give me some tips, on smoothing in 3ds Max, and getting a decrepit look?
To me the render looks to have sharper spikes but maybe I'm mistaken. Which I used to use. Never going back.
Making this in Blender [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/41041550/blender/fullrender.png[/t] Basically copied from this picture [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/41041550/blender/reference.png[/t] [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] Don't say anything about the proportions, that's artistic freedom
Yeah, Maya's UV mapping is stupidly easy compared to, say, Max's. Which I used to use. Never going back.
really? I used Maya's and found that to be harder :(

Oh and Silo was released on Steam today. Neat.
Because the rendering uses the fixed model with sharper spikes. :v:
Ah. That makes more sense. All those features are available in free software so I don't know why you'd want to pay for it.
Here's some of the stupid shit i do in 3Ds Max because I'm bored :v:
I lost it at "What" :v:
