Something I'm working on (Very slowly) in UDK, Guess it counts as 3D :v:

Please do note YouTube rapes the video quality and colors, It's much brighter ingame as well.
I might end up doing something in 3d for project week at school, problem is that I don't really know how I would show it, since I would rather keep it interactive and I don't really know any engines.
Or smoothing groups.
Would it be bad if I said that I don't know what smoothing groups are? [SUB]still very new to this[/SUB]

If you're very new, I don't think anyone would suspect you to know :)
Smoothing groups basically smooths the model using the geometry to simulate a... smooth object :P
It works different from a smoothing modifier as it takes the already known geometry and smooths the surfaces without adding geometry.

Your table appears to be floating.
I don't know why or what caused it but I'm addicted to textures

help me
First assignment for uni, and first model I've finished all the way through.

Unsmoothed is around 3k faces
What is it and what does it do.
looks like a remote joystick
What is it and what does it do.
It's a remote from Jimmy Neutron.
Your table appears to be floating.
Indeed it is. Might be adding a tablecloth or a table leg later, or then I'll just start working on a new one.
I got bored. Just a little warmup model before I delved back into the Hendricks Axle Assembly.

Isn't made to be a perfect example a Carbon Ceramic.
I'd say it's near final, I'd like to keep the artstyle uncluttered and simple.

I think it was just under 6k triangles, 3k polys.
Make the specular stronger.
Made earth with Cinema. Doesn't really look like 3D art, but anyways:

Made a really simple Noah's ark in proper scale.

That's a really big boat with a really long house on top. How would somebody with no prior shipbuilding experience pull that off?

This is a work in progress high polly model I'm working on as part of an assignment.
I threw some quick textures on just so its a bit more understandable, but I'm starting to wish I hadn't since they don't look very good :P
Anyway, tell me what you think :) Its still being worked on, so if you say now Ill be able to change it.
Also its the 3rd only model Ive ever done so don't be too harsh.

A lot of time. Seriously.

Right. Longer lifespans, etc... I forget these weirder little details from my upbringing.

Also, it's written in the bible, so if one is to pull any logical explanation from it and stick to the source material, I think I'd go with that "God gave him the wisdom". Or something like that.
And his family helped him, so they probably figured out something.. Back in those days people had to learn pretty much everything themselves, so I suppose they were a lot wiser and had a lot higher IQ then the general people of today.
1 can we not talk about this in the 3d thread
2 let's be real here and talk about this in the 3d thread. it's not even arguable. it's a fairy tale, it's impossible, stupid to attempt to rationalize and most importantly: never fuckin happened

This is a really good looking model. Gives me a sort of Disney Cars-feeling with the nose. But as much as I like the dry, clay-like shader, I don't think it would hurt giving it more specular highlights, being the metal it is.

Agreed, I made the ark because I'm gonna do a vignette for a congregation, had no intention on starting a discussion around it.

That looks really nice.
I need a quick help please.
3ds max
I think I pressed something and now the only way to select objects is to click on their edges. Clicking on object does not select it any more, only if I click an edge of said object.
Sometimes the space bar locks/unlocks. Should be a small padlock around the bottom right. That could be the cause, also try pressing...X I think it is that brings and hides the gizmo.

I just can't select an object by clicking anything but edges.
