Also, it seems to go a tad too fast. How exactly is it supposed to feel like Mirror's Edge, out of curiosity? Looks amazing.

hurrr
Working on a medieval knight. Still WIP so crits and suggestions are welcome. Edit: Updated the pic. I changed some things based on crits from a friend.
Just working on a full scaffolding
Yep, that's scaffolding.
Wow, long time since I've done any modeling. I was really bored so I started this, an hour of work so far. I'm gonna be doing the whole head in amazing detail, then Mudbox.
Wouldn't it be easier to just make the base shapes, sculpt and then retopo?
Dammit. Valuable lesson learned. Don't leave the number of undo steps at the default 20 and if you do, back up often. I did neither of these annnnnd I did something that fucked up my model beyond repair, could't undo far enough back, and had no backup.
Can you kinda give me a list of improvements from Blender 2.49? I've been using that forever.
Everything. Rendering my massive simulation takes ages. Even with my CPU... Already took 18h for frame 1-312. [t]http://www.abload.de/img/unbenanntquatp.png[/t]
Anyone know any good tutorials that go in-depth with vray materials? I'm still unclear on a lot of things, and I really want to learn how to make complex shaders.
GPU Rendering master race. I wish I could.
I thought about that myself at first but it wouldn't work though if it's already using over 10 gigs of ram. A shame really since bvh building would take its time but rendering would be ridiculously fast.
Jesus christ Blender is complicated as shit. This will take a while to get used to. On top of that Cycles doesn't support ATI cards. Plus I'm like a super-newbie to 3D modelling. God damnit.

God damnit.
It's got a steeper learning curve than other programs, but once you learn the hotkeys, it's lightning fast. I suggest some of Andrew Price's (Blender Guru's) tutorials. He makes great tutorials, and he has some thing in his videos that shows you what keys he's pressing.
Scafoldong master race! yup yup yup
Reading this thread made me jealous of my non-existant high-poly modeling skills. I want to try some high poly modeling that isn't turbosmoothed shit. Also characters. I want to get better at making stuff from scratch. It usually works for me as far as weapons go, but I'm just NOT satisfied with my work at all.
GPU Rendering master race. I wish I could.
No. CPU and GPU rendering is good. There is no better. Beside the fact that I would need a GPU with 12GB VRAM, rendering with the CPU would be faster in this case. For example (from an old fluidsim): It would take about 30s per frame with cycles. (300*30 = 900s/150min) Every frame is about the same time. With Blender Internals it's more like: 1st frame: 2s, 2nd frame: 3s ... All in all I get a shorter render time
Spent yesterday and today making some street props for my slums, still have quite a few left but I'm happy with the progress.
Ye well... SCAFFOLDING!
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqEwL-O2mIE[/hd] Yep it's a tank! Took me 678731 seconds to render (7,8 days) Gonna add some more fumefx to it later, and maybe sounds.
Dat content!

In Blender you would use dynamic paint to get the effect. (displace type for the terrain and paint type for texture blending.)

can you please thumb those down? i'm really afraid of high resolution planet pictures. [editline]7th May 2012[/editline] like really fucking afraid dude. thumb these down please, you can use [t] tags, please.
