No idea if you are kidding but a buddy has a literal fear of moving gas giants. I dunno why.

Did a little work on the original HEV Suit from HL2. Rigged it up and I'm about to texture it.

Yep it's a tank!
Took me 678731 seconds to render (7,8 days)
Gonna add some more fumefx to it later, and maybe sounds.
That's great! I'd have so much fun making animated movies, unfortunately I lack the resources to make good looking renders like that within an acceptable time frame. :(

Well, it did take him 7 to 8 days.
I imagine it would take me weeks, however.
I just wanna know what he used for dat grass.

Made myself the 'road system' for the slums this morning, decided to steer away from the street/sidewalk system I've been using since it is so rigid and non-organic, not fitting to slums.

So, now you're vertex painting the roads in? Looks nice.
So, now you're vertex painting the roads in? Looks nice.
Thanks! Vertex painting it is, it works better for these kind of situations, the only issue is I hate working with vertex painting, It isn't as easy to use as it should be, but then again this isn't a game engine editor.
I think I'm going to have this city done by the end of the week, I need to make some more assets, a few vehicles and I'll be set. Maybe another building, I've got 14 now.

Just a rough placement to see how it looks.
You should make it more dirty and teared up by each door if thats not too hard, adds to the realism

I'm still curious how to handle texture dividing. I mean... do you handle each house as a prop with their own UV map and texture, or do you do it per-surface, handling one single surface with the same, tiling material at a time? I always found it hard to decide whether to think prop-wise, or BSP/per-surface wise when it comes to large geometry.
That's really cool, how'd you do the dynamic terrain?
It's an animated displacement map, basically an AO map of the terrain + treads. Then I did some magic with AE to make it stay black where the tread has been.

They're modeled individual strands of grass, with some pretty vray2sidedMtl ofc.
I've been pretty busy lately, today i moved to the capital city of Finland (Helsinki). And in a few days I'll start my internship at Futuremark!
I hate to ask this here but how good would you guys say blender is for making 'level sets' such as walls, lights and ect?

That's rather genius, actually... Now I feel stupid for not thinking up that possibly solution.

Well it's inevitable considering how nasa makes those map images.

Working on texturing the HEV Suit. Early WIP.
I took the planet thingy a little further :P

Made a V2 where the clouds are much higher up in the atmosphere, cause It looked like they were absent, but when comparing the two, the clouds are visible in V1.
I like the post better in V2 though.

It's good for making game props. Many people use Blender in combination with Unity.

Much bettor colors.
Anyway, it looks like the chest might be a little too small, but just by a bit. Also, move the chest and the part above the gut forward.
And add a little gear to the waste, it's too bland in that area.

Nope, I made sure my weightmap was nice and clean. Maybe I accidentally removed a bone. I'm going to have to redo the rig.
