rule 1 in rigging is that your rig is never correct you just have to make it less bad
Wow, those guys are one of the best in the business. Great job. :)
I should be able to get a job from Futuremark after my 6 month internship. Unless I fuck up badly. :v:
Nope, I made sure my weightmap was nice and clean. Maybe I accidentally removed a bone. I'm going to have to redo the rig.
You could try to deactivate then activate an thingy that resets the transform data... I just can't remember what it's called right now............... :S [editline]9th May 2012[/editline] Reset the posture to your default rig posture and do this! "Turn off Always Deform (Skin modifier > Advanced Parameters > Always Deform) Turn it on again" THERE YOU GO! :D
and then freeman was the combine.
Holy fuck.. That's exactly how they look!
Whipped up a little test scene for some Vray stuff I want to do. I love Vray so much. <3

If you look at my renders, they're all Mental Ray.

everything u can do in vray u can do in scanline it's just really really hard
everything u can do in vray u can do in scanline it's just really really hard
Not really gonna start an argument here.. But Mental Ray and Scanline.... You just can't compare the two. For instance the way shadow is getting cast, Scanline just can't make the shadows as pretty as Mental Ray (or Vray for that matter) does. [editline]9th May 2012[/editline] oh sh**, I just started an argument...
you can do it. it's just really hard [editline]9th May 2012[/editline] you can swear on the internet i wont tell

It's possible, but it's ridiculously hard and overall pretty stupid and a huge time-waste.
Working a little on my 'skybox'
Nearly bought the 3D artist mag but It's £6 so fuck that, It showed a list of top renderers and the only one I knew was Vray which was at the top but no love for Brazil RS?
Been working on my GoKart. Took the suggestions to make the chassis more interesting. The backs a bit plain but I will be adding details. It's nice working on something with no Tri limits :v: [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26739117/3d/gokart_may%20front.png[/t] [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26739117/3d/gokart_may%20back.png[/t]
this is moving along nicely
That head looks a little long.
this is moving along nicely
As cool as it is, I can't help but feel it needs something to counter balance the axe head.
As cool as it is, I can't help but feel it needs something to counter balance the axe head.
Even though the AK looks like it's of balance to begin with. :P

i'm not getting any sense of what individual materials it's made of tbqh. the texturing could be improved a lot. i'm not getting that metal feel from it, or that wood feel, etc. it all seems too bland.
Looks like it's made from different coloured clay.
Working on a rough Jeep, and ran into a bit of trouble. I'm trying to get holes in the front end to hold the head lights, but I'm not too sure how exactly to do so. This is the front of my model: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/M9jLk.jpg[/img_thumb] This is my reference too [img_thumb]http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/242/4481/38104740001_large.jpg[/img_thumb] I've tried using booleans, but when smoothing the mesh seems to be destroyed. Anybody know of a cleaner way I can do this?
We've got one of those Jeeps at home, looks exactly like that except it's woodland-green
Figured it out. Extruding inwards and deleting some edges seemed to get the effect I wanted. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ZThhD.jpg[/img_thumb] But I still am not sure how I'd go about cutting the holes in the front for the grill, I don't think that same method will work. Anyone have any ideas?

Annoying how it still looks like beads rather than water.
Annoying how it still looks like beads rather than water.
There is no particle to mesh function in Blender yet. That is why you can see the spheres.
There is no particle to mesh function in Blender yet. That is why you can see the spheres.
You are gonna keep those giant cache files for when someone finally develops that feature, right?
lowpoly finished i think
I guess you turbosmoothed it?
I guess you turbosmoothed it?
It's just a normal map.. You can see it on the edges on the shaft. Question: Does anyone have a great tutorial for working with particles in 3Ds max 2012? I need to create a flaming comet effect. doing some additional work on the Pizza planet picture, and I've made a pizza cutter that is slowly moving towards the earth :P
