He's a bit wonky, it's a 1000 tri limit and I'm just getting the shapes in. I'm fixing it up just now.

Re-render, open in new tab for full size.
Can anyone give a suggestion for a good thing to make for my first time using 3DS Max?
I usually make stuff sitting on my desk as practice.

A solid recreation of the end of the world.

So it is a pizza planet!

Starting to get back into modeling, used Blender.
I seriously need to learn to texture, all I wanted was a red cross. Fuck.

Okay. Select all the lines around the cross, so that you've outlined the cross. Alternately, select all the faces that make up the cross. Assign this as a vertex group, and then invert your selection and assign that a vertex group. In your materials panel, create a new material that's the material you want to use for your cross, and assign that to the cross vertex group. Create another material that you want to use for everything else, and assign that to the everything else group.
You're welcome.
Jesus Christ, that was the worst crash I have ever had. I went to move a line to show shadows a bit better and as I was moving it I noticed that the polys had some how melted together and created a horrible web like pattern. This made no sense as I had not tried to weld anything but as I went to delete one of the polys the entire program glitched before crashing entirely. That was just weird.

But seriously, I should have added some lens flare from the sun using optical flares :-/
Also, sidenote, if you guys wanna vote me up, I could win a 3DConnexion SpacePilot 3D

I just finished my assessment drawings to get into my next college, called the NHTV International Higher Education in Breda. All teachers are industry pro's, and it's considered the best Game-design/VFX education here in Western-Europe, albeit I'm not sure if this is actually true from a technical stand-point.
So yes, I'm happy. They were due Tuesday, but I re-did them over and over to ensure the best result.
Couple of film presentation stills for the degree show. The DJCAD degree show runs form the 19th until the 27th in Dundee. If anybody is around, come check out the animation :D
Colours might be a bit off, just swapped it from the mac onto PC and it looks completely different >:(

You seriously need to tone down the smoothing on your weapons.
Just got back from Stuttgart last night.
FMX was awesome, really inspiring stuff.
Anyone who's in to 3d and has the chance to go should imo.
There were a lot of good presentations from Weta Digital, Pixar, Blue Sky Studios, Bioware, Platige Image, CD Projekt and so on. Hopefully I'll be able to go next year as well.

I think his renders are godlike for that incredible glossiness, much more interesting than endless generic clay renders...
They're damn good renders but it looks like the gun is made of melting plastic.

It's going to be on a 256 sheet with baked lighting + the original op4 deagle was pretty dang smooth

They are also realtime viewport grabs, lol
No really your edges are too soft
No really your edges are too soft
Even for a high poly bake?
yeah it really does not fit the material (metal) even if the reference appears soft that's just a resolution difference. i mean recreating an old asset isn't a 1-1 conversion.
Woah wrong thread...

I thought it was plastic like the glock but ok I will tighten the edges
