A bump map/sculpting them would be fine if you really want nipples.
I haven't done sculpting or bump maps before and I had to rush the nipples because I thought they were kinda important to the actual chest piece...

Nah not really. They're small and miniscule, very very few people would notice a difference between normal map'd nipples and ones on the actual mesh. Plus, the normal map'd ones would probably appear smoother.

You talk like a nipple master.

You know it.
My second project ever. Tried to use reflections, light, etc

What do you guys think?
it's cute
Does anyone know if Nvidia Kepler GPU's are bad at CUDA rendering in Cycles?
I've heard that they have poor GPGPU performance.
I know this is really late to answer but I went a few pages back and noticed your comment.
Yeah Kepler GPU's are quite crap at computing because Nvidia has capped it.
It's probably to be able to sell the same cards uncapped for 3 times as much for "pro's". A bit like the quadro bullshit.
That's why I told (username) Nvidia that he's better off with the 580. And domino should do a bit more research before disagreeing.

everything is so bright i can only see some of the ambient occlusion

Includes some slidey bits and a bit of inside work that is still very WIP.
Aforementioned slidey bits

Still really WIP as well.

I know :P
I just wanted to show that I'm still alive doing 3D stuff.
I'll compile a video of all the animations in the game later :)
Is a 43200x21600 texture overkill? I think not
Is a 43200x21600 texture overkill? I think not
Depends on what type of object it is, and how close the camera would be, as well as how much the resolution would be.
If you're making a mousepad that's gonna stay in a corner in a 1920x1080 render, it would be waste, and you could get a excellent result with a 1024x1024 resolution texture.
I make all my stuff so that it will look good at very close up :0 but it's for the earth so 43200x21600 is kind of small for close ups of earth.
I would like to model or something right now, but my middle mouse button is broken. : /
I'll just go back to tf2...
Why can't i save huge images as tga/bmp/jpg/etc in photoshop?
Why can't i save huge images as tga/bmp/jpg/etc in photoshop?
You could just save it as a PSD, 3Ds max can read PSD's
I know that Photoshop has limits to how big it can save images on regular formats.

I actually managed to break the scroll on a MX518 because of the constant torture it had to endure when moving the camera around in 3ds Max's viewport.
Killed two mice because of that already.

4th for me so far, I just have resorted to buying the cheapy 15 dollar mice and dealing with it.
Did some color correction and made the AO better and rerendered. I guess this will have to do.

If you guys have some critique or suggestions I'd be glad to hear them before I turn this in.

Our thrower enemy animation :)
Everythings really bright, can't really see much.
Doesn't really look like there's any power to his throw though.

And no, there isn't very much power, as we don't need it.

That's nothing, I'd need a 432,000x216,000 texture to get realistic shots from low earth orbit. Or a dozen 43200x21600 masks and a bunch of noise/speckle/etc maps.

NASA wants their computer back.
No really, they need it for those realistic shots from low earth orbit.
They don't need to make renders when they can use cameras and take actual photos.

Wow, that's amasing!
