The ten-year development time.
The ten-year development time.
Oh yeah, it's in development hell but that doesn't make what we have any less fun!
If you're using max, then craft director or mad car.
Which one would be more user friendly? And/or which one would you recommend?
Splines :)
Path constrain.
That wouldn't be that good for what I'm making, that would be better for a train or roller coaster. Thanks for the suggestion though
blender FTW

Shhhhh we don't discuss that here.

Decided to stop being lazy for a bit. Gonna add scratches and dirt and what not soon.

God fucking dammit.
Thanks for the suggestion Nvidia. Craft director had free version that works pretty well for what I needed.
I got a new question though, specifically about linking.
On my tires, I have these little fender bits that lay on top of them, like this:

(Going to completely remodel tires and fenders, but these do fore now)
However, since I link them to the tire, the fender spins with it. How can I link the fender to stay with the tire, but only stay on top of it?

Maybe you could take a dummy, and place it in the middle, on the outside of the tire, then use look-at constrain on the fender to the dummy?
Or just look-at on the tire.

That what I was doing originally, but it wouldn't work at all on the front tires because they rotated (or something like that)
I did however try something else and now it works perfectly. I'll upload a little test video tomorrow.

But you should just ignore linking the tire itself to the fender.
as long as the gizmo is set to the center of the tire, and you apply a look-at constrain from the fender to the tire, it should be fine :P

Blender auto-saves all the time unless you disable it.

Yes but does it compensate for you being a dirty freeloading communist?

I guess I didn't realize myself just how powerful 3ds' renderer is...
[editline]22nd June 2012[/editline]
Anyone have some good photorealistic render tutorials you can recommend? Now I'm at it, I wanna go the extra mile and see what else this thing can do.

Go with Mentalray/Vray. They're realistic rendering engines for Max.

By the way, I used texture painting for the first time to do the scratches. Gotta say, it's pretty good. Especially since my UV was all over the place.
I don't have VRay. I heard it's far better than MRay.

I wouldn't know, I use Cycles.
[editline].[/editline]
I think this is more or less done. What do you guys think?

Hows that for an iron-sight? I'm no gun expert, so I have no idea where it should be put. Information on where to put it would be good. Also, does anybody know any good UVW Unwrapping tutorials?
how does one save a game made in blender so I can share with friends?
