that's counterproductive though. you should always try to understand why an error occurs. reset xforms, do an stl check, weld with .001, etc. there's plenty of things you could have done wrong but thought you did right. very rarely, a mesh just gets fucked up in max and has some kind of corruption you just can't get rid of. usually exporting to obj and re-importing fixes that. you shouldn't have to redo work unless it's more productive to redo it than solve it. otherwise you're wasting an opportunity to learn something.

Should have tried to exporting to obj. and re-importing it, and doing stl check but I did not know this. How do I do stl check?
http://www.3dmax-tutorials.com/STL_Check_Modifier.html
I seem to be blind. Thank you.
that's ancient but explains the functions well enough. it's just a modifier, lets you single out and select an error when you convert to editable poly too which owns
Update:
Why is it going from focused to unfocused back to focus? I don't think that's really possible. Other than that it looks great.
dude that's how focus works
That's how stack focusing works
I just upgraded to 3ds max 2013, first issue I have already is with unwrapping. Apparently there is no such thing as resizing in the future, because when I try to resize a few faces in edit mode, it just won't do shit at all. Anyone know why? [editline]12th July 2012[/editline] I tried using Google but I couldn't find jack shit
unintentional tilt shift :D:D:D No I'll fix that :D
Last update I'll post untill it's fully finished. Still need to work on the overal shading I think, and details :3
Share your FumeFX secrets.
That simulation is dead simple, it has a cylindrical simple source that shoots a highspeed burst of smoke to a flat floor. Getting good results is not really behind any magic it's just, experimenting with it. Reading documentation & watching videos. And tons of voxels! Oh and 16 gigs of ram or more. Though you can get the same results with less but it's gonna be sloow.
use that setup for generating high quality irises. that would own since photosourcing irises is a bitch.
It turns out, the problem I was seeming to have was actually just the baking taking forever to bake. It took at least 4 or 5 hours to bake the normals. Is that how long it usually takes?
Use mudbox to bake or some third party baking softeware. 3ds and maya have shitty baking functions.
In 3Ds Max, I've done something that has made the cut tool not work properly. Before I could just select the cut tool, then start the cut on an edge or vert, click multiple points on a face, click another edge or vert and it work cut it perfectly with several new verts. Now however, I can only cut between two points or verts, when I click on a face it doesn't set a new very, unless I double click, but then I can't continue the cut.
made this in blender just now. I've been reliving my child hood lately and have been watching batman beyond. IMO one of the best batman cartoons/reboots ever.
batman beyond was your childhood? man i feel sorry for you. TAS for life.
batman beyond was your childhood? man i feel sorry for you. TAS for life.
If your facebook info is correct, you wouldn't have been old enough to speak when that series aired :P That is, If you didn't watch a re-run.
I was 5 or 6 when Batman beyond aired. [editline]13th July 2012[/editline] it was Warner bro's on Saturday mornings, and toonami at night. so lot's of DBZ, Gundam, Batman, spiderman, and static shock.
I never had any form of digital or satellite TV until I was much older.
Am I heading in the right direction with this new attempt? [sp]Filename.[/sp]
If your facebook info is correct, you wouldn't have been old enough to speak when that series aired :P That is, If you didn't watch a re-run.
you dont gotta speak to enjoy batman
you dont gotta speak to enjoy batman
hahaha, well said :) I must admit, I never was allowed to watch any of those cartoons when I grew up. Even pokemon was banned from my home. But I sometimes managed to watch 5 minutes of Spiderman: TAS... Before my parents shut of the TV. :P
what was wrong with your parents?
what was wrong with your parents?
Communist Alien Budgies, Need I say more?
I finished highpoly part of the tutorial. Even added one part that was missing on tutorial.
what was wrong with your parents?
They're retarded :P
