Oh... oh.... oh....
Why hasn't he got a capture card yet, I'm confused, is filming a choice he's made?
He does have a capture card though... Recently anyway, he live streams everything now.

Maybe he should check out gamegrumps. Their stuff doesn't have shit production quality and I feel like I'm on the couch with them.

It requires a likable and friendly personality though. You know, someone that you'd want to be friends with.
Oops.

Remember to give evilaj2010 some credit for the idea.

He's had one for about 6 months now.
He's now addicted to streaming from about 1PM - 8PM nonstop and he has the twitch chat walk him through every single game. He pretends that it's not true but he's a huge fucking liar and it's been proven dozens of times with simple "oh I'm not supposed to go here? People are saying blahblahblahblah"

it's all the enjoyment of a shitty camcorder LP but with none of the excuses!

I've never heard of this game before, but from watching the video I'm almost 100% sure that even I could do better than him...
...whilst blindfolded

Aww, it's not 2 hours long.
Aww, it's not 2 hours long.
I went straight for getting every part of DSP crying and yelling. The bits of gameplay inbetween are rather boring and not entertaining. Plus it's not even a full playthrough. 88 parts, and he still didn't beat the game. Half of it was savescumming at the alien base assault.

3 minutes in and I'm already having several hemorrhages.
IF THEY KEEP MISSING, MOVE THEM CLOSER YOU CHUCKLEFUCK!
...Fucking Sigh.
I'm going to have to buy XCOM and prove to myself that i can do better than him. I hope he hasn't played Valkyria Chronicles.
Oh my fucking god, his constant ranting on panicking in XCOM.
Although there's something to be said about 95% and 98% shots missing.
Oh my fucking god, his constant ranting on panicking in XCOM.

And the enemies spawning and getting their free move.
And the enemies spawning and getting their free move.
In most instances during his run, they weren't actually "spawning". He had already triggered them by being a moron and running too far into the battlefield. The reason he thinks they're spawning is because once he triggers them they retreat into the fog of war, only to suddenly reappear later, seemingly out of nowhere.
More importantly, on UFO missions, aliens patrol in the fog of war. They just happened to patrol right into his squad while he was in the middle of an engagement.
As for 98% shots missing, it was once in awhile, which DOES happen in XCOM. It's a part of the game. He doesn't seem to understand it's important to actually plan your battle as it goes and instead relies on rolling the dice at every possible turn. Sometimes you have to roll the dice, but in the situations where you do, you should do whatever is in your power to minimize casualites becuase that 98% could miss (retreats, concealment, heavy cover, hunker down, etc). He does none of this.
The only time I ever saw him actually use heavy cover was when the tutorial told him to do it. Every other instance was just a "I'll just move them all up here because I need to get closer", not "Oh this is a bunch of good cover, I should use all of this."

I did that with MGS 1-3, after seeing him fail so horribly at them. I can honestly say that DSP is what got me to try the Metal Gear Solid series, if only because it still looked great despite his shittiness overshadowing it.
DSP playing MGS 2 was probably the most destroying thing I've ever watched. I just don't know why when he was going all spastic trying to kill his enemies did he not think, "Hang on, maybe I have no fucking idea what I'm doing" and instead of doing a bit of research on his game of choice he just ignorantly blazed through the game as if it was the game's fault.
I played a bit of MGS 1 and 2 at a friends house but I mostly watched my friend play it as I'd never played a game like it before but straight away it screams stealth and he just doesn't pick up for so fucking long I really wondered how someone could become so known for playing games yet know so little.
[editline]10th September 2013[/editline]
OMG, watching XCOM, that game looks amazing. He doesn't deserve to play that game, he's a fucking piece of shit.
Yeah, i wasn't too much of a stealth fan until the year MGS4 came out, but i did watch my friend blaze through MGS2/3 and play Metal Gear Online when i went to his house. I got more curious and one day i said I'll give MGS3 a shot, cue me getting hooked and having some minor help with how the game works and that.
You'd think with all those games and experience playing video games under his belt that he'd had some sort of common sense and/or adaptability. I mean, it's alright to suck at a game, the dude is better than me in fighting games, no doubt about that... but as you play, you learn, adapt and get better. Watching someone improve is interesting enough if it's a completely blind let's play, but he just doesn't learn from experiences in the game he's currently playing as well as other games.
The fact that this is his job just makes it even more mind-boggling. I really want to think this is all an act of his, and he is generally taking the piss out of us all for taking him so seriously. This makes watching him play through the MGS games so hard... You'd think he'd be at least "decent" at his job.
Edit: ...Wait a minute, it just dawned to me. DSP says that XCOM: Enemy Unknown is his first turn based strategy game that he has ever played on youtube, but he played Disgaea 4 first, which is also a turn based strategy Sep 13, 2011, And he did 150 odd parts of it. And he also played Final Fantasy Tactics and such...
He even read the book, and bought the strategy guide for Disgaea 4... What in the fuck?
I'm confused now, I'm going to have to watch this...
Edit 2: I immediately regret this decision.
I honestly want to see DSP play a kids game and see if he can beat it in less than 3 playthroughs.
And I mean like Barbie level kids games.

Oh, what fun* that would be.
"WHERE'S THE BRUSH FOR THE HORSE, THE GAME DIDN'T SHOW ME WHERE TO FIND IT"
"WHICH DRESS DO I PICK, I WAS SUPPOSED TO PICK PINK?! FUCK YOU BARBIE, SHOW ME YOUR TITS"
"YOU'RE TELLING ME THE LETTER OF THE DAY IS C?! HAHAHAHAHAHA"
"*sings ELMO WORLD ORDER for 3 hours straight*"
*soul-rending agony
Maybe I should start being bad at games and blaming them to be views.

If you are a good actor, sure, go for it.
I've only dabbled on XCOM original and i've yet to buy the reboot, but how bad is he?
Honestly, not too bad. He only lost like 2 members as far as I know. The video is quiet BS, only signaling his worst and never his good. He's done WAY better, you just need to stay around longer and not leave when it starts getting good.

As cathartic as it is to watch these DSP compilations, it is sad that someone with such a shitty personality and inability to play games can get so much more of a following than genuinely good content creators.

How much did he burp without excusing himself during the playthorugh?

~7:50 when he loses the UK "What was I supposed to do"
Zoom in on the terror mission in Leeds he skipped
Gold. Keep up the good work.
BTW what difficulty was he playing XCOM on?

Yes, savescumming in a game with intentional countermeasures against it, refusing to use the game's absolutely necessary cover system, and sparing his squad's life on dice rolls all the time is clearly the proper way to play XCOM.
Even when he did good it was because that 45% finally hit. It had nothing to do with strategy or tactics. It was disgusting.
How much did he burp without excusing himself during the playthorugh?
I was tempted to take count, it was a lot. I'd say over 15, but below 25.
BTW what difficulty was he playing XCOM on?
Normal. At one point he says it's too difficult and I go back to when he picked the difficulty.
