I wish I could go. But alas, I live in a state that has no ocean access, aside from a very salty lake.
I am a certified PADI scuba diver (OWDA and currently doing an extra license) It's the most fun you can ever have, I suggest everyone to try it atleast once during your lifetime
I can't swim. :ohdear:
What kind of training do you need to scuba in caves?
I have a scuba diving license :v:
My current biggest fear is the bends (surprisingly not sharks, etc) are they essentially non-existent so long as you follow the proper surfacing procedures, decompression points, etc, etc?
This, what happens if you have to drop a log?
You either hold it in, or shit your wetsuit. Speaking of which, peeing in dive gear is known (at least here) as 'marinating' since wet/dry suits are designed to retain moisture :v: Oh also, I'm an advanced certified diver, which basically means I've done the course (with PADI) and then specialized photography, deep and night dive training.
Whenever I go under water quite far I always get loads of pain between my eyes/start of my nose. Have you ever experienced that?

I went Scuba diving in Australia last year, was amazing!
Holding your the nose and blowing is the best option in my opinion.
Yeah when you get bite marks in your regulator you know it's time to change.
I'm an Open Water diver. Did my qualification in a freezing cold flooded quarry last year, in had 3-4m visibility at best sometimes they had all kinds of cool stuff they'd put at the bottom for divers to go look at, I swam through an old aeroplane cockpit and around a copy of the nautilus some students had created for a project. I'd love to dive some reefs in the future. It was also really really weird learning how to control bouyancy at first, especially if you're concentrating you tend to hold your breath in and that might cause you to rise, and you're still holding your breath in trying to find the button to release air out of your BDU etc etc :v:

Just a reminder, holding your breath while diving can cause your lungs to explode.
[release] Scuba diving is a sport that is practiced recreationally all around the world and can even be a profession. There are many diving jobs such as recreational divemaster and instructor, commercial diver, police diver, scientific diver, and military diver.
Police diver? Wooooooow this sounds interesting, breaking up fights between fish !! Anyway, If i waned to get a scuba diving certificate, how would I become of this? Cost, how much lessons etc.

I remember the first time I Scuba dived on holiday, it was only in shallow waters thought it was pretty awesome. Felt like Darth Vader when I was testing the mask out of water. Typical behaviour for a first time diver :buddy:
i was denied at age 13 to attend free scuba lessons because i have epilepsy. :smith:
Uncle's a dive master, I've always wanted to go scuba diving in the ocean. I've been in an intro dive at a pool though.
My dad and I go diving occasionally. He's got 30 years of experience under his belt. Holy shit I'd even say with him I feel safer underwater than on land.
Whats the name of that thing where your whole body gets sucked through your tube really fast and you bones come out the other end? And that thing where nitrogen bubbles get stuck in your bloodstream and you die horribly?
Certified diver here, too. I took it in Sharm El Sheik in Egypt some time ago, where the biggest creature I saw was a huge Napoleon Fish. It simply came out of the blue, cruising gently towards the group. We had to part to let it through, or else it would simply crash into us. PS: Pretending to have a Matrix fight underwater is awesome.
I'm not allowed to go scuba diving :smith:

I always wanted to scuba dive in the lake at the cottage, just to see what I could find there :D
Whats the name of that thing where your whole body gets sucked through your tube really fast and you bones come out the other end? And that thing where nitrogen bubbles get stuck in your bloodstream and you die horribly?
it's called painfull.
I wonder if the Abyss style liquid breathing will ever be experimented with. It's technically possible and they use the same perfluorocarbon in special premature baby incubators. However, you would need some sort of facilitated breathing pump as your lungs would tire out quickly. Aswell as a co2 scrubber implanted in your artery. The depth you would be able to reach with this would be insane though.
I sure as hell wouldn't do that, what if they got the mixture wrong and I drown while they thought I was just getting used to it, also the rat thing made me sad, I would have punched the asshole in the face if he did that to any of my pets. I probably would kill him right there. That may seem extreme but I take my pets very seriously, they are living being too and they feel pain. I have two albino gerbils and they are my babies, my neighbor tried to kill one and I put him in the hospitle. They are family to me, the only part of it that doesn't hate me.
