The kid is doing some retarded shit alright But it just feels not right when he is just sitting there while the host and the audience is all going nuts when the host says something like "No cursing on my stage" [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] And i always get a feeling (with most American shows like this) is that it looks so damn staged/scripted
his hair makes him look like he has a cylinder for a head [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Also: *claps* STEVE, STEEEEVE! STEEEEEEVE! *claps*
[B]Wikipedia[/B]: The Steve Wilkos Show debuted on September 10, 2007, two months after Wilkos' departure as director of security on The Jerry Springer Show. That explains the audience
Trying to ''help'' through antagonism and intimidation. the kid was no angel but he didn't deserve that.
Yes, yelling at people for a few hours has long lasting impact on their personality.
[QUOTE=I-the-gamer;31940200]Yes, yelling at people for a few hours has long lasting impact on their personality.[/QUOTE] You mean for two days, and then putting them in a jail, where two inmates and a guard yell at him, and another inmate tells him about being raped.
Reality TV is bullshit.
[QUOTE=SilverDragon619;31924732]I've lived in a shitty little one room apartment my entire fucking life. I have to WALK up 5 sets of STAIRS every time I come home from outside and all I have is just a computer and a mattress on the floor, mum can't get any fucking work AT ALL while this kid got a fucking house,a swimming pool, dirt bikes, guitars, drums, trampelines and his dad can atleast get jobs. the kid's a fucking spoiled brat.[/QUOTE] Material Possessions=/=A good upbringing. The kid's probably bitter by the divorce, and his mom giving up on him from the very beginning probably only fueled his problems. His dad is obviously not the perfect parent, and is probably guilty to a good degree of neglect from what is hinted at. You can't raise a kid just on material items, the kid needs love and parenting that is not communicated through being given items. I've had a similar up bringing to this kid, I've had a turbulent divorce between my parents, and as a result one parent basically bacome a no show, while my other parent didn't do dittlely squat to raise me besides give me material items to keep from actually doing their job. The way the kid acts is way out of line (duh) but I can definitely understand and see how he has hostilities towards the world and authority. it's pretty hard to respect any kind of authority when you basically got shat on by it from the very get go (divorce, mom leaving him etc etc.) Dysfunctional families are not restricted to social class, and I believe just raining down possessions down on a kid, without really parenting is an affective catalyst in developing the kind of aggression this kid has been expressing. The kid doesn't need to be yelled at, he needs therapy, but sadly that shit is scaring and therapy may not be so successful.
I'm not really a fan of this show, but I'm glad they put this kid in his place. There's nothing more annoying than the "IM A REBELLIOUS SPOILED 13 YEAR OLD AND I THINK IM AWESOME FOR DOING DUMB THINGS" attitude. It's quite sad watching him make an ass out of himself in front of a crowd while he actually believes that he is impressing anyone. Someone needs to tell him: "you're 13, you don't have the experience of an adult, your opinions don't matter, and you're certainly not cool in any way. Grow up and learn how to act like a civilized person." Even more sad is the fact that he has his dad there who obviously cares a lot about him and spoils him with everything he wants yet obviously he's still lacking attention. When I was 13 I thought doing dumb things made me cool and rebellious too. "Aww yeah look at me cursing and starting trouble, am I cool yet?" Obviously I grew out of that a long time ago and looking back I can see that I was just trying to get attention. That is what I see in this kid, a poor little boy doing idiotic things to get attention. I'm glad that showing him the jail cell opened his eyes a little bit and I hope the lesson has stuck with him. edit- right, i'm obviously dumb for downplaying the amazing wisdom of this badass elementary school veteran..the things hes seen in those first 6 years in school must have turned him into a hardened badass who is ready for the challenges of the real world. Getting sent to the principals office, calling each other "fags", space bagging peoples backpacks, this boy is definitely ready to face the cold, unforgiving world that we live in!
Fuck this show, Theres other ways of getting through to minors other then bring 2 rapists and a 18 yearold into a cell to let them yell at him, The fuck are they doing to this kid?
This is not helping the child [B]this is ruining him[/B]. He'll grow up doubting everything he does and will probably gain some serious social issues along the way. How the fuck can this be aired on TV?
Steve Wilkos looks like a walking penis.
STEEEEVVEEE HO OOHHHH OHHHEEE STVEEEEVEE!!!
Everyone in that video is an asshole.
Holy fuck this video shows so many things that's wrong with america

He could just lie in therapy anyways, you don't know if it'd help him for sure.
Steve: Why do you steal shirts and hats? Kid: Because i can't go to jail What a dick
[QUOTE=KingKombat;31928166]If that cop were to do that shit to me I'd be all "thanks for the unprofessionalism" [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] YOU LIVE IN CANADA SO WE'RE GONNA TAKE YOU TO A DETROIT JAIL BECAUSE THIS MAKES SENSE i get the point but it still makes no sense [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] god those inmates sound like the only stereotypes. wouldn't be surprised if they were bad actors. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] except the mexican, he was the only one who was real about the situation.[/QUOTE] Nope I worked in a jail, those guys where real inmates. That is what they sound like. People talk and act that way because it is jail, it is basically a huge mixing bowl of shitheads. So you're going to have a concentration of douchbaggery that is out of this world. Most of them act hard, then when you end up laying the smack down on them they start crying like little bitches and filing complaints against you.
It may have been harsh, but it showed the little punk where his way of life would have gotten him. I don't 100% agree with it, but they tried to 'good' ways of setting him right, and those didn't work. So, they had to use a 'bad' way- scaring him straight.
What a stupid show. He has an audience applauding him as he yells at a 13 year old for half an hour...
This entire thread is filled with the same recycled "he may be bad, but this isn't helping" speech. We don't need 100 posters to clarify that.
This kid needs to get some punishment... AKA, parent disipline. :eng101:
I liked that black man in the covnty jail.
I don't know the whole situation with the Mexican kid but I feel bad for him
Steve and his cock stroking posse of an audience have got to be the largest collection of gaylords in the entire planet. I cannot imagine worse tripe on television. Why do people even volunteer to be humiliated like this?
This is fucking terrible, the kid is obviously fucked up, but what Steve did was just making fun of him for his actions, he wasn't helping, he was just making fun! Fucking shitty host, what is this. [editline]27th August 2011[/editline] "I'm a 40 year old man insulting a 13 year old yeah go me fuck yeaaah!" "STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE"
