I need to be the best at whatever I do, but I know I can't.

You're 15, you're not better than anyone. Try as you might somewhere, someone is doing it much better.

:colbert:
If you let the actions of others affect your choices and time spent then you are not going to be original and are never going to surpass those you envy.
OP gets discouraged by people doing better than him, and gives up.
Motivation issue with a slight case of perfectionism? Grow the fuck up OP.
You won't be the best at everything you try.
You won't catch onto everything you attempt in a snap.
Nothing comes naturally
Nothing comes with award
Grow some balls, and try to make a name for yourself. Take competition by the throat, take your friends.. and learn from them.
TL;DR: I cba to do shit because I know I probably won't be the best in the world at it.
It's called being a perfectionist, but lacking the will to reach for it.
Being a perfectionist isn't a bad thing, but only if you actually go for perfection instead of dropping it half way.

this is a productive way to think
.
I went through a crisis like that sometime last year I think.
I just put it behind me, now that I'm in swedish highschool where I'm learning about electricity, circuits, computer stuff and programming, I know that in 3 years when I graduate I'll probably be very good at all of those things. Then there's university...
Basically, don't TRY to be good at something, find something you enjoy doing and suppress all those feelings you described in the op just keep doing what you enjoy. One day, you'll find you're quite awesome at it.
Edit:
Though, to find something you like you might wanna limit your choices to something with either artistic or practical value.
Pen-spinning, while incredibly awesome to behold is quite a useless feat.

Why delude yourself?
Face the facts and deal with them.
You people are so negative, Accepting that you'll never ammount to anything is not a healthy mindset.
Doing something you like is the best way to develop skills. I spend most of my free time at a computer because I like games, I'm now quite tech savvy.
Isolate yourself from the entire world, then you only have yourself to compete with :buddy:
When I was a kid we were told that though you may not be the best in any specific field, there's always one thing you'll be the best in: being yourself. I interpreted it as meaning that you're the unique combination of your experiences, thoughts and skills, and though they might overlap with someone else's to some extent, there is no one else that would have them all and in addition even more. And I reasoned that you cannot universally claim that one experience, thought or skill is above another; though one experience may seem more valuable to you, it is not that to someone else, and all skills serve a purpose or no one would know them. Even if you are graded in school, compared to other people and weighed at every turn, it is always done by other people, based on your value to them - never to yourself. The value of a human cannot be measured, and therefore letting these comparisons affect how you view yourself discredits your humanity and likens you to an item on a shopkeeper's shelf.
I completely understand what you mean, however I usually get this feeling when i've invested a lot of time into something. You cant expect to be amazing at something when you first start it, that's the period where you should aspire to be the best. Come back and complain when you've been 3d modelling for 15 years and still suck :v:
I'm sure there are people who are better than me at breathing, eating, and drinking water. I should stop doing those things since I'm not the absolute best at them. Narcissistic much?
If you so want to be the best at anything, then get working. If you're not prepared to work for it, then you don't want it THAT bad. So you're a regular piece of shit anyway...
